I am porting my 012 line to digi. and took up the SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB offer today. Need Opinion, should i go for 12 months or 24 months DIGI CONTRACT? for RM 68.00 3 Gb? If 24 months only need pay RM 949. if 12 months need pay RM 1119?

Any suggestion appreciated. As this is my first smart phone.. now sure if i want to be tied for 1 year or 2 years...
*
This is basically up to your personal needs. As for me, I don't mind tied up to a data plan as I need the data plan. But data plan offers keep changing with competition. So if you wish more flexibility and potential of a cheaper/better plan in the future - sign up 1 year plan.

Have anyone download the gingerbread using Kies
*
Gingerbread is NOT available yet for Malaysia unless you are in Europe ( Italy ) now. So you cannot have KIES to update it
Why don't you use OVercome 2.0 beta - it is a very good, stable working version

No need to turn it on as you won't be able to do if brick. Just Go to download mode and use odin to flash rotohammer JME - sure can revive tab. Many users here has revived theirs this way

QUOTE(rashad @ May 14 2011, 09:47 PM)
hi guys a noob inquiry, i am not sure if a solution was posted to solve this matter. plz if any one can help in this matter especially our beloved gurus in this forum:

i have already rooted my GT.
and installed rom manager...
after doing the Flash ClockworkMod Recovery i chose one of the 3 options offered to us:
galaxy tab-verizon
galaxy tab-att
galaxy tab-tmobile

whats the difference between them and r they compatible with our gsm voice Tab?

.....Any way this is not my problem my problem is in doing a backup of my stock rom........after downloading the recovery clockwork i went to the option of backup current room

it reboots and i get this error:

e:failed to verify whole-file signiture

i think this a common issue for froyo 2.2 ....there is a problem with the

3e recovery file

......any way i don't know how to solve it.i have tried reading all the tuturials that i could find on this matter but without success.
*
Don't use Rom Manager unless yours is Europe or USA Tabs

If you just wish to have a good backup/recovery solution - you can use Modaco R1 solution :
http://android.modaco.com/content/samsung-...online-kitchen/

If you find this link too complicate to follow, I have written a simple guide:
http://leemn.wordpress.com/2011/01/27/gala...daco-rom-beta1/

You can skip the part/the steps of installing Modaco rom if you are not interested

Thank you again benny for the feedback, i installed modaco kernel. but now i have another question for you and the forum gurus; is there a way to remove the splash (couple of red yellow lines shows up) that comes when booting up.
*
No it cannot be removed. It is just a slight graphic glitch - nothing to worry about

Guys wanna ask, if I rooted my SGT and wanna update firmware, after updating do I need to re-root ? Does it work the same way like iOS jailbreaking as you need to jailbreak again after you updated the firmware.

TQ. smile.gif
*
Root one time only. After that you can flash umpteen times/different rom, the root still remains

Download read the guide please
basically use Odin flash gingerbreadstock and modem. Boot tab in recovery and flash 2 beta zip.
Pitbull put in so much effort writing it and some too "lazy" to refer and want quick answer. And when tab jam than start asking why. Just unbelievable

anyone knows how to copy contact from blackberry to galaxy tab...help me pls..
*
You CAN sync from your Blackberry to Gmail. Using your browser on your blackberry, go to www.gmail.com and sign into your gmail account. Go down to "More Google Products" (probably at the bottom of the page) and click on it. Scroll down and click on "sync." You then install it and can then sync your blackberry into gmail.

Than on your tab/settings/accounts - sign in to google and it will sync over from your gmail

Use this to convert ipd files to csv format ; than from your Gmail at computer import the csv file. As far as I know there is no free solution yet to convert

Ver 2.0 is Gingerbread based and is a upgraded version of Froyo : basically it offers more responsive performance : read this article for an idea of the major differences:
