I think this year IRB only announce they will use direct debit to make the refund faster.

You use CIMB and get direct debit. I have 2 cases refund using check when using MBB. MBB does not support direct debit from IRB?  hmm.gif
Need to wait others who is MBB user to confirm this.
*
My account also MBB... i guess I'm getting a cheque then....Next year must put my CIMB account

Did you check the e-Lejar on the additional 40sen ?

e-BE submission : 15 March 2011
Refund received : 31 March 2011
Refund method : Cheque (from CIMB Islamic)
Bank Account : Maybank

For those who wants their refund via Bank Transfer, should put CIMB account number.... The reason I guess is the LHDN Jabatan Pungutan uses CIMB Islamic current account. Transferring funds from CIMB to other banks involve IBG charges...

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask. If LHDN owes me money and have not return to me extra tax I paid, how long is the grace period for me to claim it back from them before they close my case?

Btw, I'm overseas now...

Thanks.
*
Have you checked in your E-lejar what is the credit amount LHDN owes you ?
IF they don't refund you, then the amount will stay in your account as a CREDIT. The money will NOT go missing.

For personal tax, if the extra tax u pay after 2008, normally take max 30 days. For company tax, not sure because my client take more than 2 / 3 years still havent receive the overpaid amount. If u use overpaid to do contra with tax installment, the chance you get tax audit will be high. I think income tax dept still havent give money because they dont have money now.

People are getting their refunds via cheque or direct bank-in already for those early bird users of E-Filling.

All bankslah.
However it is most important to note the the spelling of your name in your tax file is EXACTLY the same as the one in your bank account eg if using bin both must use bin and not one using bin an the other b. Bank will reject.
*
I put in Maybank Account with the same Account Name as my Tax File name... they still send me a cheque.
My gut feeling is that LHDN uses CIMB Islamic as their bank account (cheque was issued by CIMB Islamic), thus my conclusion to use CIMB if you prefer direct bank transfer.

I bought two notebook PCs last year on different dates one was RM1300 and the other RM2000. How can I maximize tax deduction? Claim both or only the Higher priced one?
*
You can choose one of the receipts only... logically select the RM2000 notebook.
If you had planned to use the PC purchase as Tax Relief, you should have bought >RM3000 notebook instead.
This why Tax Planning is crucial.

Is SOCSO contribution tax deductable under D17 (EPF and Life insurance)?
*
Of course not... We don't even get a yearly statement from SOCSO. I don't get anything back (even a paper statement) when contributing RM14.75 monthly

vmad.gif mad.gif RM14.75 x 12 = RM177 per year

Thanks Ronnie. So If I bought the two notebooks with both in the same bill, only then I can claim for the full RM3000 deduction?
*
The RM3000 is for one(1) notebook/PC purchase in the year of assessment. You cannot add a few notebooks to make the value RM3000.

For Broadband receipts from TM, can we just keep the Page 1 of the TM bill ?
It states "Caj Perkhidmatan Internet"

Would that be sufficient or we need to keep the whole bill ?

for those that received your refund.

Do you guys receive a letter in advance?
Does LHDN bank-in to your account directly?
*
This time they just send ame cheque directly.. no pre-informed letter unlike 2 years ago.

To have LHDN bank-in the refund, you need to put your CIMB Bank account number
