QUOTE(g5sim @ May 8 2011, 03:07 AM) ASUS E350/50 lappies http://my.asus.com/Notebooks/Versatile_Per...#specificationsA challenge to ASUS. Dell managed to produce E350/50 and even other non APU, AMD (Turion and Neo) lappies which is less than an inch thick and less than 2KG in weight. According to ASUS's link above, the weight for the APU models starts from 2.6KG and 3.46CM. Are the specs accurate? Size is accurate, I doubt the weight though.

QUOTE(raymond-kyeow @ May 8 2011, 10:27 PM) Hi guys, am eyeing on A43Sj, i3-2310M + Nvidia GT520M@RM1999 Any user on this model feedback for it? Cause don't know is the keyboard ergonomic and comfort. Besides that also would like to know the quality build in overall.. hmm thanks in advance My friend has one, I basically molested his unit kao kao. Build quality is solid. Temperature is quite decent. Looks quite nice. Keyboard is as usual chiclet with minimal flexing, feels good to type on. Only con I can think of? Poor speakers (as usual). Not like higher MP will help that much for video calling. 0.3MP is good enough anyways. Mostly depends on your connection.
For your dust problem, chiclet keyboards are easier to clean if there's dust because all the keys are separated from each other.

Should have a price drop by then if not a refresh. You should ask back around that time.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 8 2011, 11:10 PM) Does the A43Sj have Nvidia Optimus bro? A very good price for a very good laptop, with 2 years international warranty summore Doesn't have it iirc. Not that it matters that much, battery life is very very good at 4 hours for web surfing alone.

The new SB + larger battery is a huge improvement.
Even with Optimus, the puny battery on mine can barely manage 2 hours.

QUOTE(FlamingR @ May 11 2011, 08:31 PM) I JUST LUV THE FREE ASUS Slim Bag, it's so elegant! ) The black one? I think it's too slim to be useful. Can barely stuff anything in it after putting laptop and power adapter.

QUOTE(flapjackpotato @ May 11 2011, 08:57 PM) Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting either the A43SV or the A53SV. Are there any major differences in the feel of the A53's keyboard compared to the A43?(I've already tried the A53 keyboard) And is the A53 only available with the UK keyboard layout? Should feel the same since both keyboards are essentially the same except for the inclusion numpad on the A53. It's only available in the US layout here. QUOTE(pandera999 @ May 11 2011, 08:59 PM) ya... i use it to put books, notes only.. everyday bring for attend lecture. I tried doing that but with the laptop is totally impossible. I prefer the older bag. At least it had an extra compartment at the back.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 12 2011, 06:55 PM) All laptops with Nvidia Optimus will have an Nvidia Optimus sticker right? I don't see it on the photos Kelvinclyap88 uploaded Nope, not on the later generation ones like my A42JV. My ex's N82JV had it though. It even had the sticker which denotes what color LED indicates which GPU is in use.

QUOTE(skysoblue93 @ May 13 2011, 10:53 AM) oh boy.. even on optimus 4 hours + only? i was expecting 5+ or something.. Optimus isn't a miracle worker. It only toggles a lower power consumption graphic unit when the high performance one isn't needed. Still, battery capacity plays a large part here.

QUOTE(skysoblue93 @ May 15 2011, 06:10 PM) 5 DVDs of recovery, And ALOT of bloatware. Asus is sure a Bloatware-loving company. Im still collecting data for this laptop . (temp while game, idle etc etc) I never did make the recovery discs... I made the people I bought my laptop from do it because it was faulty in 8 days. Asus knows how to profit! For every bloatware they put in, they get like $5 from the software publishers.
