Thats why its called PVR not normal Byond..u need a Byond PVR decoder..they will swap with ur current decoder..but u must pay RM150 to the installer (promotion price..normal is RM300)

Astro installer should come and install for u..call Astro and ask for the details of ur installer..

Yeah but logit85 signed up for Super Pack 2..thats for PVR right? the one with new PVR decoder?

I think better u call up astro and ask them about this..

Failed to convince parents to switch to Super Pack..dissapointed but expected..an extra RM15 was just a bit much for them

why u follow them? No need to take up their demand..just say no..they have no right to force2..all the packages are optional..so dont be bullied and stand up for ur rights..if u dont like SP3 then just call up and change..they have to listenn and follow what u want...

If u dont have the sports package then u wont get the HD sports channel..same goes to the other channels..u only get the HD channels if u subscribe to the original package eg.sports, learning, movies package..

N bulan depan ada Copa America..so tu pun HD..anyways, ASSP HD really cannot meet the needs of HD sports before this..look at football last season..EPL was given priority becoz of the massive rights fee that astro needed to pay and im sure in the contract that they acquired, the Premier League wanted their matches to be shown as priority..that meant other leagues like Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A only were in HD when ther was no EPL matches..so now ASSP HD 2 will help to try and cater the needs of football and other sports too..

n yes, Im thinking those matches Malaysia have with the EPL teams will be in HD..not only that, Im sure future Malaysian national team matches will also be in HD..Malaysia have World Cup qualifiers and Olympic qualifiers coming up too..

macam xkenal astro..buat chnl local HD, xbleh nak charge lebih..masuk family package semua orang dpat tgok..astro buat chanel sport baru, masuk pacakge sport, dpat la dia untung..org langgan la pakej sport dia..astro pentingkan keuntungan bukan kepelbagaian..

lgpun, brape kerat je la local productions yg ada dlam format HD..? filem2 ada la..selain tue?

There is no way u can use that HDMI port if u are not subscribed to the HD services..astro does not allow the use of the HDMI port on their end if u are not a HD subscriber..so basically, no HD services=no HDMI port activation..

No u wont lose "stretch" when upgrade to PVR..Please do not spread wrong information without proper investigation..

The reason you do not have the "stretch" option on ur Byond PVR decoder is because u have not let ur decoder do the proper update to the current software version..

leave ur decoder in standby mode for 15-30 minutes for the update to be carried out..after that u will have all the aspect ratios available including "stretch"

so, just a caution, do investigate before spreading caution

Saw the advertisement for the Malaysian national team friendly matches against the EPL clubs on the HD channels..also on SD channels..

I would assume that this all but confirms that the matches will be in HD and probably on ASSP HD 2..their tagline is STADIUM ASTR: LIVE IT:LIVE

Only if it is available in ur area..thats the big problem with TM Unifi

Spot on..not only can u see it on the TV but while ur not at home, u can still stream it online via astro's website provided u are a sports pack subscriber..only reason i hooked on to astro was football..of course u can stream it online without needing astro but its my viewing pleasue and my money, I wanna watch through astro..

90% guarantee that the game will be LIVE on Astro..unless they do what they did the last time Chelsea came where they showed the match right after the 'full time' of the actual match..Delayed la..but all roads point to the matches being LIVE like Man Utd's tour here 2 seasons ago since the slogan is STADIUM ASTRO - LIVE IT.LIVE

It takes effect from August 2012..but usually, when La Liga match takes place, there are no EPL matches on ESPN at the same time..if there are any EPL matches, its the EPL time slots for ASSP..

whenever ESPN Star Sports win an exclusive right, its always a good thing compared to Astro getting their hands on the rights..their production of the EPL this season has been boring to lukewarm to comical at times..Spanish L Liga was actually produced to and broadcast by ESPN Star Sports a few years back along with EPL and Italian Serie A..they actually had the chats shows and interviews and analysis and all that..then Astro snapped up the rights and didnt bother to do anything with it except to show the matches Live itself..coudlnt be bothered to do anything with the rights in hand..

Good to hear ESPN Star have got it back..

The ESPN HD + is for Motor GP race tomorrow plus Formula 1 on Sunday..they want to avoid Motor GP and F1 fans complaining and angry like crazy again coz no LIVE in HD due to Wimbledon tennis like last year..

it will be so weird when ASSP HD 2 will be on CH830 and ASSP HD on ch831..cant they reorganise the numbering..?
