That was Dato' Rais plans all along..he knew he was going into a losing battle with Astro..deep down, he knew he didnt have an ants chance of fighting Astro off..all he wanted to do was to become a popular figure for the 'rakyat' and he knew even if he lost and Astro still went on with the price hike, those rakyat who are against Astro will still put Rais in high regard..no one will blame Rais..everyone will still balme Astro..

Rais is part of the governement and government hold the power over Astro..if gomen can do so many things to stop the 'clean' group, why cant they help their own rakyat's problem with Astro? When Astro can do what they like, what does that do to the image of the government?

For those of u who are asking the reason behind the cancellation of the LIVE broadcast of Malaysia vs Arsenal match, I want u guys to try figure this:

1) Malaysia vs Arsenal > delayed (Weekday 8.45 pm)
2) Malaysia vs Liverpool > LIVE (Weekend) 5.45 pm)
3) Malaysia vs Chelsea > LIVE (Weekday 8.45 pm)

Now..to be fair to Astro, they have listed on their website that the Malaysia vs Arsenal game as on delay 24 hours before the match..it was listed as being LIVE on their guide programme listings though up until a few hours before the match..however on their website, they have also listed the other 2 games as LIVE..check it out here..

So I still dont see any difference why Astro are showing Liverpool and Chelsea but not Arsenal..whats the difference? Surely it has nothing to do with Arsenal wearing Nike and the other 2 wearing adidas..surely not?

To say Arsenal's match is on a weekday, Chelsea's match is also on a weekday..if ever they wanted fans to go to the stadium, surely it had to be on the Saturday for Malaysia vs Liverpool..if they do not show it so people go to the stadium, I can understand why..

Why would Astro not show a big match like Malaysia vs Arsenal when they can broadcast Lebanon vs Malaysia all the way from the middle-East regardless of how they got their feed..I see no benefit for Astro not showing the match unless Pro-Event mangement (match organisers) did not give permission or they paid Astro sooo much money not to show the match..

So whats the reason? Im still wondering why..

Well it its true, then Pro Events ahave a stupud marketting strategy..seriously..

If people knew earlier that it would not be on Astro, then many could have gone to the stadium..but since they cancelled the LIVE match last minute, those who were planning on watching at home still couldnt get to the stadium if they were far away..thats just stupid really..

Well lets just wait for Saturday..Astro has listed Malaysia's game with Liverpool as LIVE..I had said in an earlier post that 24 hours before the Arsenal match, they listed the game as Delayed on Thursday..

So lets see how long the Liverpool game will be listed as LIVE..

why u say no LIVE? I just check the guide..listed got LIVE from 4.55 pm but diesnt say which club or country playing though..

Channel News Asia often airs news that dont sit well with our government..and I tell u something..if people in the north, east coast, west coast of Malaysia and also Sabah and Sarawak get CNA, the government might lose substansial support from these people..so I dont see it ever coming in to Astro..Im not sure if the feed that I get in Johor is the same or not as that of Unifi but what I get is a breath of fresh air comard to the government flavoured RTM and TV3 news..just search Channel News Asia'e reports on YouTube regarding last week's rally and bouyh u could see the difference on the news and reort we got and what they gave..

As for ur dilemma, I think better u take News instead of variety coz u might get bored with cartoons just like u got bored with the variety package..news package is just more than just 24 hour news..documentaries, special reorts, sports and even comedy is found on the news package..and like the post earlier, CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera also sometimes carries news about Malaysia just like about last weeks rally

Ur right about the HD services..

For the external hard drive PVR, its the recording services that requires u to use the WD External hard drive..u need to buy that external drive by urself and only one type can be used..cant remember the series but do check online

The Personal Video recorder is the PVR decoder on promotion right now at a cost of RM150..the external drive for the storage is built in to the decoder..
