Added on September 23, 2011, 1:56 amyes..my Atdro twice kena lightning..just gone blank and cannot turn on..TV once kene..the second time only Astro..

My advice to all Malaysians..when ever there is lightning and thunderstorms, if possible, unplug all electrical devices unless ur home is protected from lightning strikes in any way of form..just switching off wont be enough..and even more so for Astro coz there have been cases when even when the decoder has been unplugged, lighning can still cause damage..very dangerous if ur not at home if that happens..

if ur already a subscriber, then free but if ur new to astro, it should be RM199

Why did u have to pay? as far as I know, since Byond was launched in December 2009, it's free for existing Astro customers to upgrade to Byond..no charge at all aprt from the monthly RM20 for HD services..I never paid anything to the contractor..I'm not sure if anything has changed since then..

Like I said, I think only new customers are required to pay any fee to subscribe..and if u upgraded to Byond PVR, the current promotion price is RM150 payable to the installer..

When the hall are Astro going to bring in a HD news channel? Just give us back Sky News HD..so many things happening in the world everyday and we still stuck with SD news channels..and those crappy RTM and TV3 news BS..

Bro..next time can u at least give some description on whatever link u post? Not all of us here understand whatever u post here..and that article might not be easy to understand to anyone who is not technology savvy..i could read it 10 times and yet I may still not understand it..

I highly doubt Astro would ever share their beloved sports content with TM..in fact, Im thinking its TM that will be giving some of its channel to Astro..channels lile MUTV, SyFy Universal and etx..

I just dont see Astro giving up and sharing their beloved, exclusive and money making English Premier League with TM..maybe other leagues like German or French or even Dutch league rights..but expect them to keep a firm grip on the things that make them money..

Regarding channels that have been Malaysianised on Astro..the saddest case for me is Disney channel..wow..this channel has such a dramatic Malaysian makeover..from the days of watching American kiddies drama like Lizzie Mgguire and Hanna Montanna..now we get Upin and Ipin (eventhough I think its kind of good for this cartoon to pop up on Disney) and the worst of all, an English speaking version of CICAKMAN..

seriously..CICAKMAN talks in English? mana mari ini cicak? nothing more Malaysian than Cicakman on a DISNEY channel..
