Wow, a reputable bank but apply dirty tricks? Can bank negara do anything if we were to complain? Perhaps those who already got the reimbursement can forward all the communication details to bank negara and let them have  a look.
*
It's not a dirty trick. This is why you need to go through everything yourself before putting your signature on anything. In the printed HSBC credit card application form, there are two places where you are asked to sign on. One for the bank and another one for this CPP insurance. Those who are charged RMxx.xx/month for this CPP insurance is because you signed twice on the application form.

i find HSBC amanah quite stingy with their CL.
Both my Gold HSBC and Amex got higher CL than my Plat HSBC Amanah. and i apply my AMEX before all the increment sweat.gif
so they still based on my old salary for the AMEX
Most likely due to the fact that you are already an existing customer.

Today I received a SMS from 63839

RM0.00 Offset yr RM60 GST for HSBC Card with 9500 Rwrd Pts. Register via SMS till 31/06. SMS GST<space>Yr 16digit card no to 33212. Visit hbsbc.com.my for details.

And since most of HSBC RM50 cash vouchers need minimum 13,000 points, I thought I might as while go offset my coming GST with 9500 points. So I SMS them and received below SMS

RM0.30 HSBC RM50 Service Tax Redemption via SMS - Your registration is confirmed. Visit www.hsbc.com.my for details and other promotions.

Note above, RM0.30!!! As usual, I have to pay for HSBC SMS registration  mad.gif
*
Bro, RM60 GST was a typo right ? Anyway, the rewards points needed to redeem RM50 credit card service tax from HSBC has always been at only 9,500 rewards points and you can do the redemption online sweat.gif

hey..as for paying the bill by using cash deposit, do we need to key supplementary card number to pay or just pay one shot using principal card holder's credit card number to settle the bill? because the bill stated principal and supplementary's transaction in the same invoice..
*pay in a separate credit card number or pay based on the principal card number?
*
Just pay everything into the principal card number. However, for CIMB Bank credit card, you need to pay the outstanding amount to the principal card and supplementary card separately.

I tried to my HSBC card to access the Premier lounge at KLIA but was denied. Reason given is because the card was not issued in Hong Kong. Is this true? If it is so, then this is a big disappointment. What a let down.
*
Only HSBC Premier MC issued by HSBC HK ? I wasn't aware that HSBC Premier MC gets free access to Plaza Premium Lounge...

Anyway, it is true that HSBC Premier World MasterCard doesn't give you free access to Plaza Premium Lounge anywhere in the world. Anyway, you may find THIS THREAD useful to you.

Hi guys, I've been using Visa Gold for the past 6 years. I clear every transaction using Internet Banking.

Applied Mpower Plat card 2 weeks ago & I received it yesterday. I activated it straight away via phone.

Thing is though, when I log on to internet banking, the Mpower Plat account is not visible. Is there any extra steps to be done?
*
Login > Services (on the left) > Select Account (on the left), then select your new MPower Platinum VISA.

I applied for HSBC VS and was charged RM50 for annual fee. Can I get this waived?
*
That is not annual fee but credit card service tax which is paid to the government. If you applied for this card under certain promotion, then you probably are eligible for some free cash from HSBC to help you to pay for the first year's credit card service tax. Do mind that you are fully liable for the credit card service tax from the second year onwards and don't expect HSBC to waive the credit card service for you because they won't.

HSBC card is good if you shop at Mid Valley or The Gardens.
Speaking of this, i used my HSBC credit card at Mid Valley last month but i did not get the 5x HSBC Rewards Points. If my memory serves me correctly, i used it at Jaya Jusco and Guardian.

Bro, I see you still keeping your Premier WMC. By the second billing cycle if still not reflected in the Statement better call HSBC.
*
Yeah, haven't received my statement for this month yet.

By the way, I only keep this card due to its Agoda 7% promotion, and of course for some other promotions in HK as well. Understand the MBB VISA and MC 6% Agoda promotion is pretty much year-round too since they have extended it twice but I did the calculations and I still get to save more with this card biggrin.gif

Last year, I also saved some money thanks to you sharing and teaching me to use my HSBC VS credit card to book with agoda.com  thumbup.gif  notworthy.gif

But now book rooms with agoda using the MBB VI to earn 5X TP and get 6% discount.
*
Yeah, 5x TP + 6% = about 8.5%!!! Too bad I don't have the MBB VI and neither am I qualified for it cry.gif

By the way bro, I received my HSBC credit card statement just now and I got a few more hundred of bonus points credited into my account. I did not use my HSBC MC last month. So I suppose the bonus points came from the Mid-Valley transactions back in middle of June biggrin.gif

I got my MBB2 cards through Poslaju last year. That was in January, just about two weeks after the new credit card product was launched.

hi everyone,

based on hsbc, it's scam email. really stress!

what happen?

11.30 a.m. - someone called my home and verify residential address
12.00 p.m. - email saying approve with links
1.47 p.m. - call center said no records
7.45 p.m. - call center said no records and they said they don't notify people via email.

think about it, when i submit application i didn't put in my email address. But my email is linked up with my savings account.

This is so risky! i wonder is internal job maybe!
*
I suspected so. In all HSBC email, the address usually contains some really long random numbers. Something like this> xxxxxxxxxxxx.5043023.100300.0@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 5 2012, 09:08 PM)
Can anyone here confirm HSBC actually sent out email when an application is approved?
From what i remember, no. They do not.

I helped my mom to apply for a HSBC Amanah credit card sometime in 2009 and she did not get any email when it was approved. For my own case, which one was a pre-approved credit card and another one was a FD pledged credit card (FD pledged credit card still required approval), i did not receive any email from HSBC either.

HSBC actually have sent out email to me when last time I apply their Amanah Platinum card on April 2012 because I did not know my application had been approved until I check on my email... said that the card will sent out to me in 2 weeks time...
Later, I call CS to check with them(because didn't received verification call from bank), they confirm that, they have sent out the email & I will received my credit card in 10 working days
the card have sent to me by Poslaju 2 days later  smile.gif
But the problem is that the CS also told ericwen they do not notify people via email.

the Agoda offer is for all hotel that can be book with Agoda isn't it or for some hotel only? Yes i already booked and paid, im using HSBC Amanah Visa platinum btw
*
It's applicable for all hotels in Agoda. And as Gen-X said, you must access the Agoda website via HSBC Home&Away landing page or else you won't get any discount. And your HSBC Amanah issued credit card is entitled for all Home&Away privileges and this includes the Agoda discount smile.gif

Huh ? You too ? Did you guys go to Agoda website through Home&Away website ?

Anyway, do try it again. And this time, try to go to the site step by step. Meaning, look up for Home&Away website through google, don't set your country. Then look for Agoda. I tried it and the discount did turn up after I keyed in the HSBC Amanah credit card no.

No. That is not the reason. I used my mom's canceled HSBC Amanah VISA and the discount did come up after I keyed in the card number.
