Welcome to Defy! Too bad you have a bad 1st experience. Defy is a good phone for the price. My wife was using iphone4 but she so like my phone that she sold it and bought an android phone herself...but higher end than mine...HTC Incredible S.

Added on April 28, 2011, 12:52 amFor me, i think this phone is really not to serve the purpose of taking underwater video, not it is indestructible. If you are looking for a phone that can withstand "accidental" abuse, then this is the phone to go for. Dont get it just bcos u think u can take underwater video or abuse the phone cos it will damage. If u accidentally drop the phone in water, or on the floor then no prob.

Ya...i am installing it now. Hey wanna ask you. When you make a call, does the screen go blank and you cannot press any button to on it again?

I have to use my fingers to press the screen near the sensor to on the screen back. Weird

Only on CM7. On Froyo no problem at all. Strange. I suspect is maybe the sensitivity value of the proximity sensor is different but Quarx say it's the same.

Hey Blackswitch, your recording on CM7 ok or not? Mine can record but the recording seems laggy. The movement is jittery and jumpy. How about yours?

I think i have to revert back to Froyo liao. So mafan have to press the screen to on the screen back. And some of the function is not ready yet also and a still got bugs. Ya, gingerbread is nice....but if got problem, using a stable Froyo is better i guess. Maybe a bit slow...but not slow until so obvious. I will wait for a final version before going back to CM7.

Earpiece gone again...zzzz. Wtf?

Update: Nvm....reflash and got it back.... dont know that flashing will make it not working....

Ya lo...weird. I flash to Barebones 1.5 then earpiece stop working. I thought earpiece problem again but i am not using Motorola parts. I reflash again and it works now. Weird...never happen before.

We are talking about the defy's internal earpiece.

It's a sign of ur earpiece going to kong soon. Last time my 1 same symptom before it gone case. I am now using Sony Ericsson earpiece in my Motorola I DIY change it. Mine not under warranty so decided to DIY. Haha.

All the apps you find in the market but they skin it to either dark version or transparent version. Looks very nice.

Apps...the widget. For example, facebook widget normally in white, but they make it transparent.

Mine is working in both camera and camcorder.

Now my proximity sensor ok liao also. But the bad thing is...my earpiece died...i think it's time to go service center.

I think you have to install CM7, the straight away install Gapps....then only reboot. Works for me

Flash SBF, Root, Install 2nd Init, then install CM7 and Gapps in 1 go...then only reboot. Works for me.

Before u flash....reboot...press power button + volume down. You will see a android with an exclamation mark in a triangle. Press volume up + volume down together. The menu will come out. Choose wipe data and then wipe dalvik cache. After done reboot and straight away press power + volume up to Bootloader mode. Then flash the sbf again. It should work now.

If you planning to go back to CM7, try use 3.4.2_177 Deblur. I am using this 1 as my base in CM7. Everything works fine.
