ive been looking around for the past week thinking about how i hoped for massive, large scale, tradezone styled trading. i guess my plan to get some nifty 2nd hand stuff in an attempt to cut short the time needed [to accumulate mohnay] isnt as brilliant as it first seemed! unsure.gif sweat.gif doh.gif

but hey, thanks alot for the links htkaki, eyerule and SiriuslyCold [last but not least, of course! thumbup.gif] thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

oh well, no hifi stuff for this guy for years to come then sad.gif

btw SiriuslyCold, that last sentence deserves an EVEN bigger, badder and looonger "HMMMMMMMMMM" tongue.gif tongue.gif thumbup.gif

Silon, seriously speaking - my system is strictly low-end; I have what I consider the best entry-level stuff I can get, but they are entry level. And contrary to audiophiliac tendencies, I'm perfectly happy with my system biggrin.gif

perhaps you can read this article

As long as your are satisfied with your system, i dont think there is a need for an upgrade. After all, upgrading a system normally aint a cheap affair unless your wallet is loaded or being bitten by the hi-fi bug. LOL

A used Benchmark came up in Star Audiofile, selling for 3K. Perhaps someone here would be interested in it. It caused quite a stir last time and was FOTM for quite some time.

hey for entry level, can i get decent sound for rm 1.5k +/- that can have 5.1 DTS/Dolby Digital but at the same time allows me to have above average sound when i play music....i am currently using Robertson Audio/Pioneer but the set up is very old (6 years old) and has no DTS so wanna upgrade but my budget is only 1.5K +/-....

so far i got Samsung HT-TQ25 on my mind for 1.2K and because its wireless (mum hates wires across my room) so any other good ones?

my dream model is the Phillips HTS 9800W for Rm3.2K but price is a huge HUGE factor so any other model that is WIRELESS has HDMI terminal 5.1 system for around that price?

Where in the world do you get Paradigm equipment in Msia? Asia Sound Equipment? Do they impose a huge markup like they did with the AKG line?

Asia Sound Eqpt yes.

dunno about the markup (which is govt taxes and which is distributor) but when I last asked about the Atoms they quoted me RM1070 (compared to US$189 stateside and SG$298 in Singapore)

For US189 they are awesome, but RM1070 ... sweat.gif

I think you need to set something on your sound card (like enable digital output or something), not the amp.

Greetings all audiophiles,

As i will be moving in to my new place quite soon, i would like a recommendation for a home theater system (or is it called a hi-fi stereo system? unsure.gif). First of all, please bear with my n00bness (laugh.gif) as i am not familiar with speaker systems. Hope that you guyz here can shed some light and recommend me a good system.

Okay, my budget is around RM5k.. for the speakers + subs, amps and cables. Now, i'm not sure if this is alot or very little. BUt can you guyz try to squeeze out the most you can from 5K for a set?

Recommendations and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx in advance. Have a nice day. smile.gif
