i've been using Umobile as a spare line since November
so far, only used for call and sms
quite satisfied with it, and enjoy the free Um-Um calls most days
good for IDD calls and sms too
Um got occasional problems, but not long lasting
worth it for the competitive pricing which made DiGi seem expensive for the first time

QUOTE(theonlyvin @ Jan 12 2012, 03:14 PM) Hey guys, 1 more question here yah, I had reload rm30 and active the unlimited internet plan......so if i call umobile number, it will deduct my 100min free call or not??? the 100mins is used up first from the internet plan, even you call to Um line after that, if you call Um line, it will deduct from the free calls from your topup quite complicated This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 12 2012, 06:04 PM

Umobile Prepaid seems to have new plan rules (for activation from 20 January 2012 onwards) http://www.u.com.my/prepaid-packages/free_sms_and_free_callFree Um-Um calls now only 12am-7pm, after that it is 6 sen/min Free 20 sms (to Um) for every 6 sms sent, this apply during the same no of days as the free Um-Um calls Reminds me how DiGi changed the Easy plan early last year

I just wonder how Um will treat those who in the long MNP queue?
If they requested MNP before 20 Jan, but it finally happens after that date, will they get the new version of the plan or the original 24 hrs free calls one?
Potential to upset quite a few new customers with this..

actually, no
those two pages are about the same free calls, Um-Um that you get for topping up and last for same number of days as your topup amount
the difference is:
existing Um user, can make the free calls any time of day or night
new Um user, only free between 12am - 7pm, but get certain free sms too
this is how i understand it anyway

QUOTE(ywkwy @ Jan 21 2012, 11:38 PM) I think you are right.. I saw the FAQ "If you're an existing subscriber who signed up before 20th January 2011, you will continue to enjoy all-day free calls – subject to Fair Use Policy of 60mins a day." Um wrote 20 January 2011 on their Q&Aobviously they mean 2012 ba This post has been edited by dgboy: Jan 22 2012, 08:40 AM

QUOTE(gastacopz @ Feb 21 2012, 11:48 PM) anyone know y my phone always change to roaming service?lol and how to stop it from roaming?didnt go anywhere...sometimes in d same.place suddenly change to roaming... it probably means the U Mobile 3G signal is weak where you are at set your phone to UMTS/3G only under Network Settings/Mode however, after doing that, if there is no U Mobile 3G signal at your location, your phone will not be able to make/send calls, sms or go online
