Bonus Discounts mentioned in *118# menus

Must read the availabilty notes and show to the staff at vendor. Many times both U-Mobile counter staff and vendor staff don't know.

E.g. Kenny Rogers: UM staff said only at KR HQ 1Utama. *118# says any outlet, in 2011. KR staff dunno until insist manager call in to check. Then agreed.  Good luck.

Are you referring to my previous reply or you just share a new piece of information?

If its former, I would like to clarify that the one that I mentioned was the reload bonus, where it is 15% for reload of RM30 and above. This will be credited to your account 2 hours after reload. Reload bonus promotion is gone, as of now. On the other hand, the bonus discount that you mentioned its the merchant discount for U mobile customers at their outlet. By showing that we are using UM, we are entitled to some discount, subjected to terms and conditions.

If its latter, I'm sry that I misunderstood u

Can. In this case, the RM48/5GB data will be used first. When it is finished, RM28/500MB data will be consumed

I have some questions:

We can get up to 14.4mbps until we finish up the 500MB allocation. And then the speed will get throttled to 64kbps. If we don't subscribe to unlimited free internet the rate is 5 sen/MB.

1. How fast is the speed for the 5 sen/MB pay as you use data tariff?
2. If we used up our 500MB in the unlimited package before 30 days is there a way to go for the 5 sen/MB (if the speed is 14.4mps) and not get stuck with 64kbps?
subscribe for

Thank you.

You have 3 options
First, cancel your unlimited mobile internet plan by calling customer service on 1318. You will lost all remaining voice minute and sms. After cancellation, your usage including internet will be charged at normal rate. Do take note that you need to wait at least 15bminutes before the customer service answer your call.
Second, renew your unlimited mobile internet plan manually through *118# menu for 500mb
Third, subscribe mobile internet plan, there are several plan available where you can check via website or *118# menu

If you are not buying phone from UM, then the postpaid plan comes with no contract.

i am using YES for browsing, actually its not "expensive" to use YES for browsing as most of the data is ady being "cache" in the browser, most of the time its juz refresh and very little data is consumed,

i ady stopped my UM broadband cause speed nowadays suks at nite, however Maxis hav improved as a lot of maxis users hav migrated into UM, hence the lag in using UM now.

ya, thats why once u find a particular ISP good, just keep it to urself.. if promote to friends, everyone MNP then will become slow d.. tongue.gif

based on http://www.u.com.my/prepaid-packages/rate-plan umobile call to umobile is free for every RM reloaded?

Does this applied if I reload RM30 a month and spend RM28 in the unlimited prepaid mobile broadband? and get 30 days of free call to another umobile numbers?
*
It applies to unlimited mobile internet plan as well. Do note that you must finish the 100 free voice minutes under the unlimited mobile internet plan FIRST, then only you enjoy the daily free calls to UM numbers

After porting to other telco, if you are unable to receive TAC from Maybank2u.com, you need to call up the Maybank customer service line and let them know that you have recently MNP.

Their technical team will solve the problem for you, usually within 3 days (up to 2 weeks). I tried it before.

perhaps they are not ready with so many MNP applications. they do not expect so much customers when they first launched their promotion plans

someone wrote that Um are switching HLR supplier from Huawei to ZTE

certainly the outage had nothing to do with the new maxis partnership
*
hopefully ZTE can provide more stable platform then. the impact of going offline for hours during peak time is HUGE. another offline event will certainly kill UM

Ok I just dropped a line at their online website.

I can't find any of my friends using Umobile at the moment. LOL

One more thing, if I roam at Celcom 2G network with umobile and I call another umobile user who is also roaming at Celcom's network - does the free call promotion apply in this case?
*
yes, you are entitled for free call under this situation. free calls are for u mobile to u mobile, irrespective of whether they're on domestic roaming or not.

your problem is domestic roaming (not international roaming), which is roaming on celcom network. FYI, UM has got no 2G network. Once you out from UM3G network, you will roam on celcom 2G network, that's why the speed is slow. If your can't stand with EDGE/GPRS speed, it is advisable to change to other telco smile.gif
