Yes.. I at Kuching.. Using Celcom signal, on EDGE speed.. So far so good. I'm just using it for mobile phone purpose only.

I must say it is the cheapest mobile internet plan around in the market, bundle with voice minutes and sms.

Feedback for digilife: he helped me to MNP to UM, responsible seller/dealer! thumbs up for him

I got the USB modem from them. It is true that this promo is here, but it is based on first come first serve basis. You need to look into the detail T&C by downloading the pdf file from M2U

hopefully the mobile internet promotion still be continued. Just afraid that they will withdrawn or increase the price of the package once they gt enuf customer base.

Actually most ppl go for um now because of two reasons, first one for the mobile internet package which bundle with voice and sms, second one is going for the free call.

However, just to share here that for those who subscribe to mobile internet, the free call promotion actually does not benefit much for them as the call usage will be deducted from the 100mins first.

I'm facing the same problem on my galaxy tab, except that, i can surf the internet using the browser but other applications like whatsapp and facebook application cant connect. This happens on celcom 2g network. Im using the wap apn. Still cant solve this problem.
*
I'm currently roaming on celcom2g network. My location at Sarawak.

I did exactly what u did. Can use to surf internet using browser, but very slow (slow compare to when I put the same simcard into Nokia phone to surf using using U Mobile Internet APN). And also, can't connect to whatsapp and facebook.

are u roaming on celcom 2g data?

try celcom mms apn if on android
*
How to set the setting to celcom mms? By default the MNC code is 18, I can't change to 19. Below are the setting I used but still failed to connect.

Phone: HTC Desire HD (android)
Network: roaming on Celcom (umobile2g visible in this list of networks, but I can't choose umobile2g, if I try to choose umobile2g, error msg returned was "you have no access to this network")
Internet Plan: U Mobile unlimited internet

Called up u mobile customer service @ 1318, they confirmed that the ordinary U Mobile setting is correct.

Name : U Mobile Internet
APN : my3g
MCC : 502
MNC : 18
APN type : default,hipri

Name : U Mobile Wap
APN : my3g
Proxy: 10.30.5.11
Port: 8080
MCC : 502
MNC : 18
APN type : default (should be httpproxy, but in order for me to surf internet, I changed this to default)
By using this setting , I can surf using browser, but the speed is significantly slower (slower than the ordinary GPRS speed). Also, I can't use whastapp or facebook application if I use this APN setting

Name : Celcom 2G Internet
APN : celcom.net.my
MCC : 502
MNC : 18 (supposed to be 19, but I can't change this)
APN type : default

Name : Celcom 2G MMS
APN : mms.celcom.net.my
MMSC : http://mms.celcom.net.my
MMS proxy : 10.128.1.242
MMS port : 8080
MCC : 502
MNC : 18 (supposed to be 19, but I can't change this)
APN type : mms

I had tried all 4 APNs above, but still failed to connect. Anyone can help here? thanks

Actually the current rate RM28 with 500MB, 100 mins and 30 sms is the cheapest already. Although it might not suits individual needs as some ppl prefer more sms, some prefer more talktime, while some just need a data plan.

Don't ask for more value from it, now the problem is I doubt whether this promo will continue for how long. One thing for sure is when the customer base increases, U Mobile would certainly revise this unlimited mobile internet package. Pls be informed that when number of users increases, their network capability will soon unable to cope and they might do something to control the usage (U mobile is providing data roaming on celcom as well, this adds more salt to the pain if celcom is charging U Mobile more for data roaming usage).

Just recalled back, when DiGi emerged as a new player in the telecomunication companys, it offers great deal. As time passes, with more and more customeres, one can see how DiGi changes, with the increase in subscription rate, implementation of freebies account, various revised rate to increase the call/sms rate, etc....

Also according to the T&C of U mobile unlimited mobile internet, "This plan is available until withdrawn by us" http://u.com.my/prepaid-packages/unlimited...le-internet#tnc

Now what I hope is, U Mobile pls maintain this rm28 package..

very disappointed with umobile prepaid plan.

1. deduct my credit for no reason

2. 1st time call to customer service admitted that is their technical issue. the lady say they will refund before my expiry date. So i'm being nice and i trusted her and waited almost 1 month.

3. now almost until my expiry date they never refund back my credit

4. 2nd time call to customer service and they accuse me that i renewed for the unlimited internet twice. hence it was deducted. argue for almost 10 minutes. then only the customer service admitted that they having technical difficulties during that period.

5. 3rd time they provide me a case ID and it seems i have to wait forever to get my missing credit. what the..

6. i never exceeded 500mb nor seldom using any of the free call / sms. what for i renew the unlimited internet twice

Umobile..i am so frustrated...!!!  vmad.gif

I will suggest you to file a complaint to SKMM. This makes the telco works more efficiently!

Before commenting further, I would suggest to read the terms and condition thoroughly first.

http://u.com.my/prepaid-packages/topup-for-grabs --> Terms and conditions

3. A total of two hundred (200) USB modems to be given away throughout the Contest Period. The first 200 Reload in Ringgit Malaysia One Hundred (RM100.00) denomination will entitle the subscribers one (1) USB modem.

Hence, very likely that all the USB modems were given away already. Only 200 available to grab, from 6th June 2011 onwards. Now it is mid August, very LIKELY that no more USB modem already.

http://u.com.my/faqs/free-sim-pack

No.3 says within 5 working days. Your ordered it 4 days ago, which is Friday? Should receive by Thursday lerrr.

Anyone know what is the fair usage policy if I do not subscribe the unlimited internet plan? The link here doesn't specify: http://www.u.com.my/policies-terms-and-con...ir-usage-policy

If there's no limit, then it's cheaper not to subscribe. 5sen per MB X 500MB = RM25. Compared to RM10 + RM28 = RM38.

You can't just calculate the data usage by just multiplying the data with 5 cents. Do note that when calculating the charges, it involves data usage per session

This means that in one connection session, if you use up 10kb, you will be charged rm0.05. Similarly in one session, 100kb is used, the charge would be rm0.05. When 1.01MB is used, charges would be RM0.10.

More often, we can't have one single connection session that lasts up to 30 days! Connection session would be terminated when: for example; changing from 3g to 2g coverage, turn off and on phone, moving to place without coverage (carpark, high rise building), turning off internet applications on your phone, so on and so forth.

Therefore, I think it is not practically if we just compare the pay as you use rate in this manner.

I thought changing from maxis to umobile would had solve the problems at my area, puchong.. But same thing over and over again.. Talking half way then suddenly call cuts off... WTF, should had remain back to maxis or change to celcom.. I thought lesser users network would be better.. But NO!!!
*
I believe it is due to the automatic changing from 2g to 3g network in your area which results in this problem. To solve this, simply force your phone to use 2G network only by selecting "GPRS/EDGE" instead of using "automatic" setting, (I assume that 2G signal is stronger than 3G signal in puchong area.)
