the metal cover under the car is to improve drag or protect the battery?
*

The IMA battery is inside the car structure and chassis, not outside. The bottom of Insight is all covered up with diffusers to improve its drag co-efficient.

This drawing (without the diffusers) shows where the fuel tank and battery

Just did 5k service.
Latest FC calculation as below:

Full Tank RM62 - Ron95 shell
Milleage Range show 790km but actual milleage used is 670km (until 20km remaining).

Econ Mode ON.
50-50 hiway and city drive
*
Gulp ..thats good FC dude. I could only clock 510km and cost RM62 Esso RON95 to fill up. 90% city 10% highway.
But then I am still happy coz its way better than MyVi that average 300km RM60!

Well I think the different in FC from all our Insights most probably due to:

1. Accesories installed, bodykit, rubber mat, subwoofer, passengers and bags..more weight more fuel needed.
2. Driving style
3. Road condition, hill climb and traffic condition.

Onwers experience from me:

Extremely satisfied for what I have paid for. I don't know where to get a RM98K CBU Made in Japan, loaded with features i.e. Vehicle Stability Assist, Cruise control, Headlight adjustment, digital air con, auto rain sensing wiper, auto headlight, futuristic dash, color changing speedo, sleek sporty styling, 0.28 drag co-ef, undercarriage all nicely cover up, responsive ride and handling, 200NM of torque, nice radio cd player (to me this is nicer than the Nav equipped), silent stealth mode when stop laugh.gif , almost silent engine start notworthy.gif , gentle chime and audio alert, mother Earth friendly ..and oh dont forget the best part, DUTY FREE! whistling.gif

Ok the downside of it..interior can be quiet but soundproof is average only, ride can be hard (probably the Turanza 55 series tires but heck sporty wub.gif ), engine can be loud when rev high, missing cargo lamp doh.gif , 4 1/2 passengers not 5, no ignition keyhole light, low headroom for rear, useless rear wiper that barely swipe 50% of the window, ONE remote key vmad.gif, beep beep horn ..WTF?!? doh.gif Hatch release dinosaur style..(why not ala Mazda electronic button cry.gif ), has electric folding side mirror but NO auto fold when ignition is cut.

Overall ..I'm lovin it

To those who upgraded theirs to 6 speakers, wanna know if there are additional pair of cables ffrom the player unit for tweeter connection? I can see its quite easy to DIY add a pair of tweeter into its position.

Hi all insight owners,

Anyone want modulo skirting? Front, side and back. 2 months old, ori from honda. Bottom part of the front skirt scratched.

My friend want to sell his because it's too low. Go 1Utama can't park beyond the kerb and will touch the ground when enter certain hotel basement car park.

Will upload photos and let you guys know the price. He has no idea how much is the original price because he upgrade a lot of things together.
*

shocking.gif That's the trouble I was worrying about contemplating to install the bodykit. The car front overhang is quite long hence clearing bumps and slope will risk scracthing the skirting.

can you take picture inside the engine bay...just wanna see where you tie your ballast to....i was thinking of using 4300K bulbs..not HID...coz i takut my SC cakap banyak banyak
*
Below photos show my installation. Circled are the ballast and arrow pointing the single screw that can easily be loosen to remove the HID kit. Me too dislike about warranty void issue, so I installed them such a way the HID can easily be remove and replace back with the standard halogen prior to sending the car in for services.

Mine all seats plastic intact. Have to remove one by one.

Anyone played with those 3 emergency light sticks before? haha..kinda funny when I saw that when taking delivery of the car back then.
