My front tyre tear on the front left with just 2 weeks of driving.
Sent to sc for check and end up saying I hit something which I do not think so.
No stock on the original tyre and have to go out around to find which I end up upsizing all my tyres to 205/50/r16.
*
OMG..because of 1 have to upgrade all 4 pcs. How much those 205/50/16 cost?

My previous car using Michelin Primacy LC, fantastic grip and comfort. Worth every penny. Now this Insight came with Bridgestone Turanza, I gotta agree with you guys, kinda stiff and causes rattling/vibration occasionally, am running them at 210/200 psi front/rear. Also rear view mirror sometime shaky, headache. Glad to hear this can be solve by changing to Michelin or other softer tires. smile.gif

In the honda insight manual book, the recommended the front/rear tire pressure is 230kPa..
shall we follow this standard? coz personally I think its too high
*

I tried to run them at 230kpa ..argh .. ass pain! shocking.gif
55 series already low profile and pump it so hard..now thats what I call shaking booty in the car blink.gif

Talking bout low profile, I wanna see is2rck's ride with the Primacy 205/50 ..super low profile man! Sexy drool.gif

I am happy with the stock audio system too but infinitium got a nice setup there rclxms.gif
Kinda pain to see them ripping her apart like that though sweat.gif

When I return mine to replace the front windscreen tint, got 2-3 very fine line scratches though barely visible but Ecotint has no problem replacing them for me rclxms.gif I told them ..please don't be rough, its my new baby sweat.gif

Anyone notice the fog light basically useless, only cover left and right mostly, not much forward coverage.

Somehow I am sad about the missing front lower deflector, I questioned my SA but she told me the front deflector is not available for our market. If we look at the bottom of the front ..can see many horizontal slots, obvious something is missing/not installed.

I heard that this batch of Insight will be the last to use the 1.3L IMA hybrid engine, the next gen will be switch to 1.5L individual hybrid, which almost identical to the current Prius (but Prius is still more advance), can run purely electric or engine or both. And the most important is they change the battery from Nimh to Li-ion. Honda claim this new hybrid will get higher MPG than the current IMA. The first model to use this hybrid system should be the 9th Gen Civic.
*

Well not surprising at all. Same goes to ipad..iphone..the usual I heard..we heard new one coming! The world is always progressing and every second newer better product are appearing. So the best time is to buy when you NEED it. The worst is buying bcoz you WANT it, for this you will never satisfy wanting newer spec product. Price depend on demand vs supply, I guess when the 1.5 Hybrid finally appear..it could be selling at RM130-150K, demand going to be good since fuel are getting costlier every few months and our beloved Govt will not always give duty free CBU vehicles. Oh one more thing for those who are not aware ..RM72,000 total duties waived for our CBU Insight. whistling.gif brows.gif

Woa. Hang on. Electrical mod on an electric hybrid car should be carefully done. Slight change in V, I or R could mess the overall system. hmm.gif

Somehow we didnt mind if u wanna go for it and hopefully we can hear good news (in the form of even better mileage or better pick up). icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Agree...I read the hybrid battery has a DC-DC converter for the 12V system and it turns on and off as needed. Better make sure any electrical modification are done by professionals.

Fog light was invented to improve our visibility to other motorist in foggy or misty condition. So its not really useful to us, but useful for others.

Sometime i got beamed by oncoming traffic due to the glare from our foglamps. I guess its doing its job pretty well. thumbup.gif
*

blink.gif Bro I think you got it mixed up. DRL was designed to make our vehicle more visible to others not the fog lights. Americans Insight has their high beam running at lower power as DRL. Fog light help to increase our vision during heavy fog/rain/misty (yellow 3000K bulb will be more effective) conditions where 4300K and above light will not help much.

Check your documentation, everything is stated there. AP cert number printed on the docs as well. psyeo is correct 35% for import and 70% for excise. However our car still subjected to sales tax 10% - RM6k wink.gif

But guys seriously those bodykits are going to add more weight to the car, I am afraid FC will be affected. They do look good when its new drool.gif , later some soft knock here and there while parking, beside scratches... gap start to appear here and there doh.gif

not DRL, some kind lik hid for fog light.  hmm.gif
*

HID conversion kit? H11 type will do. But getting into that area is a pain in the ass coz our Insight undercarriage is all covered up nicely to reduce drag. You gonna need to remove the whole front bumper. Watch the video below.

Sent my car to USJ Car Express for the 1st service. Monday morning the place seems busy and hectic.
Appointment made last Friday and was given the 9.45am slot, I was there right on time. Get my queue number and waited merely about 5min, was served by a young chinese guy service advisor. Weird experience seriously...the service advisor looks like he need to learn how to smile to customer.

I asked what are things to be done? He said basic. I look at the job sheet ..well..is basic..i.e. fluids and tire pressure check. He then suggest these upgrades to me: 1. pedal lock ..I refused. 2. headlamp film..he showed me the price RM280 ..I refused. 3. autolock..I refused..(dont like ppl tearing my new car apart and wiring here and there)

Well I told him, I just need an extra pair of rubber cover for my wiper since so many of our friends one got stolen. Joker told me..."why not you buy when it really get stolen." I insist buying extra now as spare, he replied ..we don't have that in stock, need to order. I said just give me the City one..I heard they are the same, he said no stock neither.

Alright fine. So when can I collect the car since its basic check up only, now is 10am. He said 12pm. doh.gif I wonder what's appointment are for. He said the queue is quite long ..u have to wait even though is simple check up. Alright fine..I'll wait. Good thing was my sales advisor was there ..she offered to send me to office/home but I said is alright wanna see what they gonna do to my sweetheart. Sooooo while waiting ...I walked to the Parts Counter and asked for 2 pcs of wiper rubber cover for Honda City.

RM7 each!

shakehead.gif to that Service Advisor ...dude u better wake up before losing your job.

Anyway, any of forumers here bought Side Step Garnish and Trunk lid only?
Wondering how much will it be?
*

Seriously not sure why the missing smile from these service centres. Maybe their job sitting down registering service records is really a tough job. hmm.gif I bought the Side Step Garnish for RM300 from USJ Honda. Not sure about the boot tray though.

Ahhh..I like and enjoy DIY. Hehe as usual I dont like others to touch my car. As long anything that I could do it myself, I will do it. Like the other day I sent for 1st service, SA asked me "car wash?" shocking.gif I said NOPE!

Problem is there is a light socket intact to our dashboard and when they put the light at the socket, i feel the height and the angle is somehow something wrong. Too high position and did not light the floor but more inside the dashboard.
*

Bro do you (or anyone else) have a photo to show us where this center dashboard light is mounted ?
I am planning a DIY footlamp blue LED too but it will be following the cabin light (not the headlight). smile.gif
