Thats odd since i am currently renting the whole HDB unit and with no "locked" rooms with a tenancy agreement and stamp duty as well. If it were illegal, i doubt i could get the HDB to stamp the tenancy agreement.
*
Erm...minimum occupancy period has passed hence can rent the whole unit?

google'd the HDB website and the minimum occupancy period is like this. whenever u buy HDB flat, different types got different minimum # of years you must stay before you are allowed to sell.

mostly is 5 years.

the ruling says that if you rent out the whole unit, then that period doesn't count towards your 'occupancy.' so owners who never plan to sell, can immediately rent out the whole unit.
*
Well, since it is an investment.
Whenever a buyer is interested with a good price, most will sell.
So maybe with them "living" in that unit, they kinda fulfill the occupancy period. laugh.gif laugh.gif
Hence, they can sell it off after 5 years.

Anyone tried before? Izit safe?

Can it transfer money from POSB to CIMB or Maybank2u?
*
Used it twice.
Quite efficient I would say.
But I did not transfer it from POSB.
I went to the branch.
You can use POSB, but it will take longer cause they are using UOB bank the last time I checked.
They mentioned they were going to create a POSB and DBS account.

I remember previously someone mentioned that when we changed our passport, we should go and update our details so that we can continue using the fingerprint scan at immigration checkpoint.

How do we actually go about doing it ? need to get back to the Riverwalk EP centre ? The immigration officer asks my wife to just do it online .. ? hmmm

Singpass.

But i do an online test using this http://sat.mom.gov.sg/ then the result show tat i qualified v the E-pass wor. maybe my university is Recognised qualifications for Employment Pass? i am in securities company, i studied economics. my fren study engineering and ACCA can get 2.6 over there.. maybe u can advice ur fren try find again?
*
Qualify does not mean you will get it.
A lot of ppl qualify as PR but still did not get it.
2.2 is S-pass as mentioned.
The pass is more towards salary based.
You want an e-pass, demand higher pay or just suck up and accept and improve yourself to qualify for a better pay.

No problem.
Pay range always differ.
My friend started a job with 1.9 only with almost no exp (well, 6 months is considered none) laugh.gif laugh.gif
Then I know of someone who is a fresh grad doing a different field from study earning more than me (5 years related exp) sweat.gif sweat.gif
S-pass or e-pass, it should be almost the same...you are still a foreigner working your butt off. laugh.gif laugh.gif

not really, i have a lot of friends getting more than 2.5k salary still holding S pass.
my aunty getting more than 2.5k salary also but only holding WP. how do you explain?
i would say it would be base on qualification. coz most of those S pass holder doesn't have a degree and my aunty only SPM.
*
I said more towards nia.
I got fren with less than 2k got EP also.
As far as the myth goes...sg is also quite inconsistent, though not as bad as back home. laugh.gif laugh.gif

you can take Berjaya Air directly from Sg to Redang though.

Berjaya Air operates from Budget Temrinal.

I believe even with a comfortable coach, you will still feel uncomfortable as the journey is too long from SG to the Jetty.

This is why I opt to fly there instead of by road.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jun 9 2011, 03:46 PM)
KL to KT already is 7 hours by bus. Singapore to KT probably easily 9 or 10 hours ... that's a loooooooong travel time leh.
*
Thanks but flight is not an option due to time constraint for diving.
Anyway, Penang to KT is also about 9 hours and we have done that a few times.
Heck, I was in even in the bus from Penang to Sg for 12+ hours. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Anyone know how long can a white card holder stay in singapore?
*
60 days for every past 90 days
In between, you will need to "renew" your white card.

Actually speaking of MRT/Bus ... how do you guys define "elderly?" sometimes i sit i see some auntie or uncle and I can't decide whether they qualify for 'elderly' ... so dunno should get up or not haha.
*
Elderly should be fine.
Pregnant 1 may be a bit tricky sometimes.
Mistake them and you might feel the wrath of the lady for "assuming she is pregnant" laugh.gif laugh.gif

guys, i need help.

i'll be travelling from perak to singapore by bus. where will it stop? my final destination will be at Bedok Reservoir Road. this is the first time i go there by the way. my cousin suggested me to take taxi as it's the easiest way.

what if i wish to take MRT? how complicated for first time visitor like me? blush.gif
*

gothere.sg is very useful.
You need to ask where the bus stops.
There is Golden Mile (nearest MRT is Nicoll Highway - Yellow Line...a bit further will be Lavender - Green Line) and also Kovan Hub (Should be Purple Line).

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Jun 12 2011, 03:32 PM)
Like what been said, cash or ezlink.

Since you are a visitor, you can check smrt web for their  visitor day pass. You can use it to find jobs, sight seeing etc. Cheaper than ezlink if you travel a few trip in a day.
*

The day pass is not worth it unless you are visiting the zoos and other tourist attractions.
Last time I took it, it was SGD8 per day if I remember correctly.
It do come with some vouchers which are not quite useful so you may be paying more than paying cash.
