Perhaps next time when change OF, take note of how many shims or lipat on the oil filter, and the quality of the filter element. Make some notes and remember it next time.
Recommendation is to change it everytime change EO despite whatever the foreman tells you. Some may even say 'I dowan make ur money cincai one, only fix what is needed'. Of course, we believe in them, and when engine blow up, we some more bring back to the same shop that stop us from changing OF... rugi lo. Bike OF is simple, it probably doesn't have any bypass mechanism. If you do high RPM, but the OF has too much carbon already, it will slow the EO to your engine and the rest is just depend on luck. I just shared a tip to improve OF about adding a magnet to remove metal particles and I'm hoping to spark some interest among the members. If it were me, I would find a neodymium magnet and fit it onto the outer metal cover of the OF. Learn to look at quality of the items you are buying, not just the packing or the words that the kedai2 ppl tell you - which is why we have forums to protect consumers like us. |

Here are some pics of a pair of neodymium magnets that I have. Each of them about the size of a 10sen coin.
These magnets are quite powerful, and can lift a bearing 3x its size. I'd say if can put it on top of the OF, would be perfect. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

@thianz: the block jam one is not TZM... so no coolant.
I just bought a set of projector headlamp for cars, with 4 CCFL rings. Will need to do DIY conversion to bikes. |

QUOTE(thianz @ May 3 2011, 02:53 PM) it's the RGV that engine block jammed. Btw, I think my meter got problem, after 140kmh, it will shoot up to 170 very fast, don't think it is true speed. Perhaps only 110~120 kmh GPS. This post has been edited by alexei: May 3 2011, 03:03 PM |

I think that one is more like a voltage regulator. Not really sure and can't confirm. Though I've seen it in some shop, again, I didn't pay much attention to this kinda items.

@Aaron: yup, will take pic to show later... though not this evening.
@patrick: not sure, probably ~6pm. can call him ask. just google "DC bikers" can find liao, he's famous. For LED project, can just buy those ready made one, on mudah ~RM40. How special is the LED board u plan on getting? For that suction cup thing, since you're going to mount something expensive, I'd prefer a handle tripod mod. the whole pipe needs to be joined using many many cones and a curvy shape. This is the only way to do it. If just take a straight pipe and bend it around like a car one, no performance gain. Worse still, the place where there is bend, the pipe diameter reduce, and air flow become restricted.

@Spayz: If plan to install the thermal wrap, I think your coverset won't fit there where it is already so close to exhaust and deformed liao. Some more, it will push the exhaust heat further to the back along the exhaust pipe. If you have any plastic there, it will be more likely to melt.
