Want to make gravity in work, lift your water tank by 4 to 5 feet, you see pressure increase.
*
Yeah, the higher ur tank, the stronger the water pressure but will do that? Many plumbers and customers tried to boost water pressure by changing pipes to bigger ones, use direct water and etc but all of the methods do not work and a water pump is the only solution. Here is an example, the plumber advised my customer to change the piping near the water tank to bigger pipes, the connection for basin taps use PVC pipes instead of flexible hose. The total cost is RM 300+, here is what she got.

even u have a perfect piping, the pressure is still weak as the water is flowing down from ur water tank only. As per the photo above, my customer did all the modification and water pressure increase by ard 5-10% only. Wasted RM 300+ and now goin to install a water pump

however, what is considered strong water pressure is also depending on personal preferences. Some might want to have strong pressure like hotels while some have reasonable pressure is OK d.

If u do not fancy rain showers or strong pressure like hotels then a pump is not required. But if u wan powerful water pressure and enjoys a relaxing shower after a hard day work, then installing a water pump is a MUST.

just look at the photo and you can tell the difference. Deluxe and most of the brands in the market has only V leg stand while King Kong has V and I leg stand, more solid and durable.

that is bcoz ur installer installed it at the beam near ur staircase. The vibration will transmit from the beam throughout your whole house. Another forumer "periwater" previously had this problem also, relocated her pump and now is OK d.

Most plumbers just simply find a place to install the pump without considering the best location to install. To reduce the noise, you nd to have a solid base for the pump to sit on but not on beam. Usually they will put a solid wood to support the pump

The water tank is in roof (2 1/2 storey) and the pump is just located beside it.

It is impossible then. Water should flow through the pump even u did not turn on the pump. You will nd 2 snap some photos and show me or get ur plumber to check on the piping

What would happen if ur tank above ur ceiling run out of water first? Would ur pump b sucking some water from the ground tank and also some air from the ceiling tank since it is empty? Not recommended to do such installation as the pump should b installed near to your water tank, if ur tank is at ground floor, it would b hard for the pump to suck in water and booster the water .

Added on August 1, 2011, 10:28 pmHow many gallon is ur current tank and how many galllon is ur new tank?
