Android 2.4 will still be Gingerbread...Ice Cream Sandwich will be either 3.5 or 4.0...

Processor: Nvidia Tegra 2 (1GHz and above) Processor: Samsung Exynos 4210 processor - Cortex-A9 Dual Core: 1GHz - TBC Processor: Qualcomm snapdragon 1.5GHz single core based on Cortex A8 Currently, Flyer already Honeycomb already? Is it worth to buy Flyer? Some user mentioned buy Ipad 2 will be tied by apple. What does that mean? |

generally concensus is...
TI OMAP 4460 > Samsung Exynos 4210 > Nvidia Tegra 2 > Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 currently Honeycomb is only optimized for Tegra 2, and Google has added support for MSM8260 in Android 3.2... for the remaining 2, tat will be Ice Cream Sandwich before they have proper support... as for the iPad, basically Apple restricts u to ve ur iDevice to use with iTunes, even down to file transfer... QUOTE(Eguy1314 @ Jun 30 2011, 03:00 AM) Mind to elaborate more? I think it all has to do with software processor validation or something. In the rush to put Honeycomb on the market, Google only selected one manufacturer, which is NVIDA.I see. So the Qualcomm is the last 1. Can i able to upgrade the Gingerbread to Honeycomb in flyer? Thats why what you have now, like the Iconia A500, Xoom and all uses the Tegra 2 chipset. There is the impression that HTC has a problem with using NVIDIA chipset, rumor is Qualcomm has some HTC stock holdings, and they aren't very keen on their main rival using a proc for a rival. Which also means, that unless Android is validated for Quallcom, you won't have Honeycomb for the Flyer. |

QUOTE(mfitri77 @ Jun 30 2011, 09:33 AM) Which also means, that unless Android is validated for Quallcom, you won't have Honeycomb for the Flyer. The main issue for Flyer's Honeycomb is the sub standard resolution that the Flyer has. For Honeycomb 3.0 and 3.1, it needed a minimum resolution of 1280x800. With Honeycomb 3.2, tablets with lower resolutions like 1024x600 can finally use the tablet specific OS. |

TF101 and GalaxyTab7 (video calls on Qik and Fring) On TF101 with Android 3.1: - Fring can be used, but the g-sensor not working that well, galaxy user see me upside down - On Fring also, the thumbnail video of my own is missing sometimes. - On Qik... the entire app crash when I try to execute it On GalaxyTab7... - Semua boleh *Note: Just to share with y'all. If you all can try out, please do as I need to know what can be done for my bro-in-law's transformer.* |

I mean , the software suppose to automatically compatible with all the processor right?? How come it only compatible to NVIDA which was selected by Google. Just like a Window 7 OS, and it is compatible to AMD and Intel chipset ... something like that >.< Sorry, i also dunno how to describe it out >.< However, HTC do promise us about the Honeycomb right?? Actually i feel kinda weird that HTC decide to use smartphone OS in their tablet. |

Just like a Window 7 OS, and it is compatible to AMD and Intel chipset ... something like that >.< Sorry, i also dunno how to describe it out >.< Windows has a generic driver for x86 CPU, thus it can work on any x86 computer...However, HTC do promise us about the Honeycomb right?? Actually i feel kinda weird that HTC decide to use smartphone OS in their tablet. but in a bid to minimize the development time of Honeycomb, Google went with Tegra 2, which is the single most powerful ARM CPU at that time, with Nvidia providing all the SDK available... by doing so it can shorten the time needed to build up Honeycomb... but at the cost of compatibility.. Android 3.2 has added support for Qualcomm CPU, but that's all, since Android 3.2 will be the last update of Honeycomb... thus i am doubtful abt Archos' G9 tablet having Honeycomb since they run on TI OMAP 4 CPU... while it makes perfect sense for Galaxy Tab 2 to run Gingerbread at launch... HTC did say Flyer will ve Honeycomb, but when is another qn... HTC is not particularly clean when comes to updates... perhaps they may even skip Honeycomb and go Ice Cream Sandwich directly... juz look at Hero and u know... it makes sense to ve Gingerbread n Flyer, since they can't even put Honeycomb in it anyway... so they can only pretty it up with Sense UI to make it more tablet like... but still, Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich are the ultimate solution to it... QUOTE(Eguy1314 @ Jun 30 2011, 10:57 PM) Astria sifu, thanks for the answer. there is not best Android device... pick one that suits ur need... each has it's own pro and con...I knew a lot of people asked about this question already. Which is the best Android Tablet?? a brief summary of the tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - dubbed iPad killer, slimmer and lighter than iPad, but at the expense of expansion slots and ports (only has Samsung's proprietary PDMI port) Asus Transformer - marathon runner, longest battery life tablet (with keyboard dock), the dock offers more expansion (2x full USB ports, full SD card slot), and IPS panel, but the lack of HDMI is a little disappointing HTC Flyer - small, light weight, and stylus input offers more variation, and has 3G modem, but lacks performance (single core CPU) Motorola Xoom - pure Google Experience, fastest updates, but is a brick compared to others, and some performance issues as well Acer Iconia A500 - an alternative to Transformer if u dun need keyboard, full USB port, HDMI port, but heavy and has only a 256K colour monitor did i miss any? I am looking for 7 inch tablet, so it narrow down to just Flyer and Galaxy Tab. Which type of size is the most suitable size for tablet? I mean user able to use it with convenience , as i found that Ipad 2 seem to be too large in size. |

The Transformer has a mini HDMI port on the tablet itself.
