Hey right on, bro.Only a small part of the moon will be in the umbra, though, so I guess most ppl will not even notice the event. Are you going to do some shooting tonite, CompMac? U're our resident Moon photographer! deepyu, can u think of any hill in KL with a clear viewpoint of the East Horizon to try some shooting? We only have about 3.5 hours to prepare loh! |

The upper-right bit of the moon was shaded today. It wasn't really prominent, and could hardly be seen. Still, it's my first taste of a lunar eclipse. I'll be looking forward to the total eclipse in 2007.
I took 6 shots starting from 1100 UTC, in 15 minute intervals, to 1215 UTC. 300mm ISO100 f/11 1/125. I hope these will turn out well, since they were recommended exposures for a full moon under non-eclipse conditions. During a partial eclipse, is the EV of the moon lower? Crap. I think so. My photos should be underexposed then. (developing in a few weeks time) |

The moon was in the penumbra during the height of the eclipse, so definitely the EV is lower. Maybe you can ask the shop to push the film a couple of stops for you. But then the rest of your shots will be over......It was beautifool from here, the weather suddenly changed for the better at about 7.30 pm, the moon came out from behind the clouds and put on a jolly good show! Even Venus came out to see what the fuss was all about! How did you do in Butterworth, CompMac? I fear deepyu & Mr.LKM may have missed the action; they were last online at 10 plus this morning...........still no sign of them now. |

Ahh yes, and Mars was peeking from below
On a side note, my right contact lens fell out as I was rubbing my eye. Had to spend the whole hour in the park looking out through one eye! (tough, when you're trying to do assignments to kill time) |

Did you recover the lost contact? Hope it was a disposable type...... Anyway, here are my shots:- First, how the eclipse would appear to the naked eye: ![]() Eclipse at 8.08 pm in Klang Valley. ![]() Almost out of the Umbra at 8.48 pm ![]() Eerie Moon ![]() |
