QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 7 2019, 12:58 PM)
Entitled, but what people are talking about is withdrawing for liquidity purposes. Deposit 6k in 2015, withdraw 6k at start of 2016. If still want to claim for 2016, by end of the year must deposit 12k. Then start of 2016 withdraw all, means by end of 2016 you need to deposit 18k.

Too much overthinking really. 4% or so is a good interest rate (not even taking into account tax benefits) for something which is pretty much guaranteed. You can't (shouldnl't) put ALL your money into those high return things like stocks or business, so why not just leave that 6k/8k a year in SSPN rather than trying to roll it yearly and get headache. It's better than savings accounts and most FDs.

Agree with cempedaklife, don't think too much, just start it. Immediately you can get back money from government via tax deduction.
*
u mean to be entitled for relief every year u have to topup money? meaning if 2015 deposit 6K and take out early 2016 then end of 2016 put 6K is not entitled? must be 12K and so on ?

I'm wondering what it is point of doing the above:
Register online, deposit money in the morning, withdraw at BI ATM at the night.

I thought the whole idea of SSPN is for tax relief and child education fund.
*
I believe he trying to topup using Boost or using BigPay to earn points/cashback from Credit Card.

I can forgo one year with RM 0 deposit and don't claim the tax relief for that year with no deposit.
The following year I deposit RM 8k.

Isn't this fulfill too right?

Year 1: RM 8k
Year 2: RM 0k
Year 3: RM 8k
Year 4: RM 0k

P/S: This is solely based on financial affordability. Government is NOT forcing everybody to contribute/deposit.
*
U put in 8K u can claim 8K tax relief for that year, if u take out within same year u are not allowed to claim relief.
U take out on 2nd year and u put in back 8K still does not make u eligible for another 8K relief.
U need to put in 16K in order to claim relief.

as for the dividend it will be pro-rated

Got a stupid question to ask.....

Lets say my tax is RM1000 and after deduct other claims i get tax return of RM200, meaning im paying RM800 right?

So if i save RM800 into SSPN-i does that means i can further claim tax refund RM800 ?

QUOTE(paogeh @ Jan 7 2020, 10:16 AM)
the reason i was asking ...

today during kopi sessions.

someone went to SSPN office to withdraw , the officer told him :

1. for 1st time withdraw  , the tax rebate would be deducted !!
2. only those kept more that 2 years are exempt ....
that;s why ...i'm asking here ....
can , withdraw , without penalty , right ?
*
Your friend misunderstood, or the officer didnt explain clearly.

If u deposit 8K in 2019, u can withdraw 8K in 2020 but still eligible to deduct tax for 2019 submission.
If u deposit 8K in 2020 and u withdraw in 2020 then u are not eligible to deduct tax for 2020 submission.

Furthermore from that, If u deposit 8K in 2019 and u withdraw 8K in 2020, then subsequently u deposit 5K in 2020 then u are NOT eligible to deduct tax for 2020. Because in order to deduct tax for 2020 you need to have the balance of previous year (in this case 8K) in the account before any additional deposit is taken into calculation.
In short for 2020 u need to have 16K in account in order to deduct tax of 8K for 2020 submission.

2. i already have bank islam saving account, the linkage can be done in ATM machine? or must go counter?

1. I dont think can unless the SSPN account is registered under your name.
2. Try at ATM if it doesnt work then u have to fill in form go counter.

QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 6 2020, 10:57 AM)
Last month I have just open a new sspn-i account & BI account which are linked. Already deposited rm7k into sspn-i but when I tried to withdraw from sspn-i to BI via ebanking, I always get this "[0300010] - Amount exceeds transaction limit.". I have changed all the limits in the setting to 10k even though there is no category for sspn but the error persisted. Is the sspn limit fixed and cant be changed?

edit: I reduced the amount to 5k and it was successful. So is the limit for transfer of sspn to BI fixed at rm5k/day? Anyone has tried other bigger amount?
*
Its maximum 5K per transaction.

I did 5K + 3K withdrawal last month but is via ATM.

Gosh i didnt even know can withdraw via ebanking. I just wanted to walk to BI to make withdrawal lol

You need to change the limit at ATM machine.

I have withdrawed 8k in one shot without problem.
*
That limit will be under which category specifically?

I cant find anything related to SSPN limit.

Btw is your BI GO app working? i cant change limit nor transfer money because GO app keep having problem.

Hmm from Boost. Not sure about e-pay.

Lets see when the amount credited to my bank account.

Please keep us updated when u received the money.
