I saw in StarBiz today SSPN-i declared a four percent dividend for Year 2017 ex-date 31st Jan 2018.

Today is 1st of Feb 2018: I checked my SSPN account online and the dividend is in already.

Yes, based on daily rest.

For those not so pandai into Time Value of Money, here is a simple explanation:

If you masuk MYR 6,000.00 on the 1st of Jan 2017, you will get the whole 4% dividend, that is to say, MYR 240.00

If you masuk MYR 6,000.00 on the 31st of Dec 2017, you will get the a pro-rated dividend, that is to say, [ 4/100 x 6,000 ] / 365 = RM 0.68.

Go download your 2019 SSPN statement. The dividend is out!

Nothing to shout about, it is same ol' same ol' 4%.

The main reason I deposit into SSPN is to get the future matching grant and tax relief.

I use the dividend amount divided by 2018 c/f amount. It should be close to 4%.

I put in the whole RM 6,000.00 lump sum in Jan 2018 immediately after getting my bonus.

Last year a dividend yield of 4% was declared on the 29th of Jan 2019.
