To what instrument? Agree with poster above, as long as it tracks FD rates I don't see much of a difference. The main benefit is income tax deductible anyway.

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ May 21 2020, 01:04 PM) Not eligible. You will need to deposit extra 2K (to match the withdrawal 20K) then any extra deposits only eligible. So confident.... but wrong.Thumb of rule is the total available funds must be more than what previous years accumulated. QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ May 21 2020, 02:18 PM) Err all these while its been like that no meh? Your example is not the same as the one you were replying to. Read carefully again. So meaning if Year 1 i put in 8K then Year 2 take out 8K (Balance 0) and then put in 8K (balance 8K) so will eligible for tax relief Year 2? If Year 1 you put in 8k, Year 2 you take out 8k, then year 3 put 8k, both years 1 and 3 will be eligible. That's more like the mentioned situation. Yours totally different. |

Definitely is your IC. Are you sure you are the one open the account? Check the account number, which should contain your IC number with a few more digits in front and back.

QUOTE(rocketm @ Jul 23 2020, 03:24 PM) For the year 2020, whether the 8k (initial deposit) is depend on the cut off date they deposit during December 2020, am I right? The tax relief is not for net amount in account, its for net increase. For year 2021, why it does not qualify for the 8k tax relief as the net amount in the account is still 8k even there is withdrawal and deposit during the year, consider the government still giving tax relief of 8k for the year. The example is poor because it's showing balance, instead should show that in 2020 deposit +8k, in 2021 withdraw -8k, then in 2022 +8k deposit. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Sep 5 2020, 09:10 PM) I know there has been debates about paying 1 account with multiple boost. What debates? I have 5 boost accounts under 4 different IC paying to the same 3 SSPN accounts (under two different IC, mine and my wife). Boost asked for IC when adding account is same as asking for account number when doing bank withdrawal, if you notice the SSPN account number is basically IC plus a few digits....What about different boost paying different account but parent is the same? Say you have 2 children, so 2 sspn accounts, but parent IC is the same. Right now Boost require adding the SSPN account base on parent's IC. So boost account 1 pay kid 1, boost account 2 pay kid 2. Both under the same parent. Anyone facing any problem/questions from boost on this? |

Don't plan 3-5 years ahead. Tax benefit may change, you need to keep updated.

I've very regularly used Boost to deposit from 5 different accounts to 3 different PTPTN accounts. I keep my own records in my personal accounting system, not a single time has there been a mistake made.

QUOTE(alandhw @ Nov 3 2020, 03:21 PM) Woww..it is not necessary boost account holder and the sspn-i account holder must be the same person? No.Some of the regulars here very kiasi, they believe that because Boost require you to type in your IC number in the app that you're not allowed to deposit to other's account. But the fact is SSPN uses your IC number as account number (got a few more digit in front and behind to indicate which account and which child). Also my experience is that my parents can go to any SSPN branch and deposit to my kid's account, PTPTN got no issue with it. Didn't even ask how they're related. wongmunkeong liked this post

QUOTE(MGM @ Nov 4 2020, 10:50 AM) But when u key in your ic# the sspn account will appear together with the beneficiary name suggesting that they r linked, no? I already address this. That's because SSPN uses your IC number as the account number, so of course if you're depositing you will need to provide the account number. |

QUOTE(mestimenang @ Dec 15 2020, 10:17 AM) hi Dividend 4% is for one year money kept there. If you deposited in December most also can get roughly 1/12 of 4%. If you missed the cut-off date (supposedly 5th of the month) you won't get any dividend for that year.i deposited 8k in dec 2019 but today i checked my sspn-i portal didnt see any dividend received. i tot it should have 4% dividend? where to check? thanks Unless you're expecting to deposit few days/few weeks and can get 4% (if got such investment I definitely pour money in like water). |

QUOTE(Sinpayatbalibaya @ Dec 15 2020, 11:07 PM) Obviously it is sspnUTCjb. To make it more clearer SSPN UTC JB. Any website which is not PTPTN official website is a potential scam. Even if there's a reasonable explanation for the name. Register domain cheap je. You can probably register lowyatforum.net right now, then go shoot blindly say "wondering how people can't read LOWYAT FORUM". That's not the point.Wondering how a GM cant read such simple info and straight blasting it as scam. Best regards, Sinpayat Balibaya voonmingloo and alandhw liked this post

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Dec 21 2020, 12:15 AM) those who aim nett 8k for tax, Good advise. Dividend definitely will be somewhere in between your February transactions (for this year). For me it was like in 2 February 'slot' even though it says 1 Jan.check terperinchi, see if some nondeposits inside... 1)Dividend 1.1.2020 may not be on top but down in between many deposits- exclude 2)Ganjaran 1% 11.6.2020? 3)Lucky draw money eg 30.9.20? Based on your advise I saw a line like this:- 11/06/2020 1010 SIMPANAN TUNAI G KESETIAAN2020 W0010001 Unfortunately I'm not so lucky to have won lucky draw money =(. Time to deposit more money to match the ganjaran kesetiaan amount. |

QUOTE(Rinth @ Dec 21 2020, 05:41 PM) hey guys, i've done top up the RM 8k for year 2020 during july 2020. So if i want to withdraw for some emergency usage next year, soonest is when i can withdraw it? Jan 2021? Feb 2021? I know I'll need to top up nett RM 8k for year 2021, so will probably do it during Oct/Nov 2021 As soon as system open in January you should be able to withdraw. Some have said to wait till statement generated, but I don't think that will affect anything. Myself have never needed to withdraw before though, so I have opinion only, not experience.QUOTE(guy3288 @ Dec 22 2020, 01:51 PM) Source for this? |

QUOTE(smartfreak @ Jan 6 2021, 09:12 PM) Normal, similar like last year if search back the history. Probably due to 2020 year end maintenance so it is slightly delay compare to normal. Yah PTPTN officer said for dividend calculation they will use the transaction date, not the posting date when it appears in system, to calculate. smartfreak liked this post
