QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Apr 16 2011, 12:19 AM) does anyone know any tips for taking event photography? do i really need a good composition when the lighting is a big problem during night events? You need good composition in everything, irregardless of what genre of photography. For events photography, a flash gun is a must! Don't let bad lighting control you, YOU should control the light when ever possible. Otherwise, crank up the iso or get a big aperture lens. Added on April 16, 2011, 9:44 amQUOTE(loyatttt @ Apr 16 2011, 02:43 AM) thanks for sarcasm...friendly ppl here...well for starts how the focus under artificial light meaning fluorescent light, I discover phase detection focus especially on recent canon dslr model have real problem under artificial light and have certain focus shift meaning it will miss focus though not far from the correct point and all dslr which use phase detection suffer from this...hmmm what about other problem any banding issue? is the outer focus point sensitive accurate in low light??? surely all camera have weakness and only ppl who use it say maybe 1yr of heavy use will know...you mean the camera is great no issue at all?? if no I would like to know what are the problems as well as major benefits that competitor don't have such as the great dr I hear so much on sony cmos sensor... What sarcasm? Albnok is one of the few people here who owns an a900. Not in the position to comment about problems, will wait for his reply. This post has been edited by zstan: Apr 16 2011, 09:44 AM

QUOTE(67zai @ Apr 17 2011, 03:14 PM) Guys, if you were to choose a lens for walkaround or street shooting, 1750f2.8 vs 16105f3.5-5.6, which one u prefer? Depends on what body are you using and what kind of shots you want to achieve.. for me and my a300.. 1750 definitely...

QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Apr 21 2011, 12:28 AM) QUOTE(ieR @ Apr 21 2011, 01:31 AM) cant be 50mm eh? the subject is small, and so close, it must be some lens can focus that near... 30mm macro? or 100mm macro? Correct answer is tamron 1750 shot at 50mm with f2.8. Quite surprised it can produce such shallow depth of field. And yes, it can focus THAT near. Wouldn't swap it for any zoom lens in the range man.
