Im new to DSLR and a proud owner of a33 now. hehe..

Im currently would like to upgrade my 18-55 kit lens.

It have have 2 option for me. 1) New- 16-105 or 2)Used 16-80CZ.

Price about the same.

Really need all Alpha sifu here to give me advise, which should I take?

A NEW 16-105 or a USED 16-80CZ?

anyone have tamron 18-200??...how is the image quality compared to 17-50?..my 75-300 and 18-55 selling out soon..so i am thinkin of getting a replacement....i just wanna sharp image...not really need F2.8...as i have my 30mm F2.8 and 50mm F1.8 to cover...but i do need a wide angle+ telephoto...any suggestion?

oh, and not to forget, other than built quality wise, the sony 18-200/18-250 has better coating than the one on tamron 18-200/18-250.

I want 35mm but no stock. Sigh.

Actually I thought it looks like they wanna adopt the design cues of the A550 / A580 top plate. More curvy. Can't wait to see what are they going to cramp into the new NEX5!

Do sony produce battery grip for a55? today saw sony center in ipoh selling a55/33 battery grip, im not sure if that is the bg for a55/33 so i asked him, and he tell me so. I sony a33/55 bg oni got 3rd party one...@@

Newbie: depends, there is 2 type of TC, the generic, and the specific/high end one.

the generic one has only 3 or 4 glass, optically, its average, most-all lens can use (mount specific la)

sony one is the high end one, (and the minolta old one), they have 7 optic glass inside with 2 group, so they are high quality TC (min lost in IQ). but because of the space required for the glass, Not ALL lens can be used.

for AF< sony TC has both body motor bypass gear and electronic board mount, so it works for screw/SAM/SSM and 3rdparty, HSM/USD.

for generic TC AF, check with the manual.

waiting for the new FF is really a pain u knowwww.... coz u'd never know how it will be like or how it'd rise up to your expectations. and the new FF will surely hit 9k range, and that time whether i have the money to get it. or i could get the a850 now and waste all my time waiting all these while, but lose out on whatever new stuff the new FF have to offer.

but currently, im 90% new FF, 5% A850 la.... dont ask me where the missing 5% went
