Actually, your adaptor is not fried.

You just can't use it in Malaysia because our voltage is different.

The adaptor that is included in US 3DS has the classification of 100-120V while the
ones that are included in Malaysia/S'pore version is the 220-240V.

I know this because I learned the hard way and had to buy a
stepdown converter from Play-Asia to be able to charge my 3DS.

That's okay because we get to register our 3DS in Club Nintendo and earn points!

I heard you can't access Nintendo Video if you are not in the specific region
e.g: US 3DS in Malaysia can't use Nintendo Video
