I am interested in Asus Z87 M-PLUS + I3 haswell for HTPC purpose 1080p streaming.

However I found Maximus VI GENE has better audio >127dB DNR but the price is prohibitive.

can I know which other asus board has good audio ?

127db SNR only achieveable in digital connection. analog cannot get the same result, as specs write 115db
since you planning to build htpc, why not make use of hdmi audio?

u are right. audiophile can achieve better than 127dB.

so is normal mobo gives 115dB or only the GENE version ?
