127db SNR only achieveable in digital connection. analog cannot get the same result, as specs write 115db
since you planning to build htpc, why not make use of hdmi audio?

aiya, forgotten 19th or 29th. but definitely end of this month

m6 GENE specs is 115db at audio port. z87m not mentioned

as i know 1 bit data =roughly 6db
original cd (lossless) is encoded in 16bit =maximum 96db

SNR specs let u avoid noise level to play loud, but it doesn't gurantee the sound is nice lol...
i can expect no problem playing thru speaker, so-so when direct drive a headphone.
