iPhone 4 is still selling like hot cakes now. I don't think they need to release any new model for now.
I do hope there wont be any iphone 5 though. I hate it when I'm being forced to upgrade to a new iPhone because I cant use or have a toned down iOS 5 on my ip4...That so B**crap. |

i5 might not be out also probably Apple wanted to slow down iPhone tech spec compare to Ipad2. If i5 were to come out, it wil have same or higher spec than Ipad2, since iPad always have lower spec compare to iPhone (eg RAM), so to counter this, they skip iphone for a year to developed in iPad, with this iPad user will not feel any unworthiness when buying it

I also don't think Apple will release the so-called iphone 5 in 2011..these r my reasons;
1) CDMA Verizon iphone 4 just released in Jan 2011. - based on their history,they did release new iphone once a year..but when the iphone 4 CDMA was released,it messed up 'once a year' theory. Apple would have to pull back the date for iphone 5. 2) WDCC announcements - every year,Apple would give a sneak peak of new iphone model in this 'roadshow'. however,2011 is the year where Apple will concentrate on software rather than hardware updates. 3) White iphone 4 in coming months. Anyway,this is what i read. |

apple better show us a more mature and stable iOS. better add more features to the iOS, such as make the iphone as a removeable drive when plugged into the PC's USB so that we can utilize the big capacity of our iphone as a thumbdrive (not tied to itunes please). pls add more advance features to the camera app too. pls add more settings to the safari browser like find text in page, disable loading of image, and flash support. |

i also heard bout this.
however,the iphone5 is actuall iphone4 but doesnt use GSM as we are in Malaysia. Its use another thing(i dont remember for its data transfer. |

apple keep it low ..
coz while everyone fighting with dual core this year . apple will come out with tri core , tri memory, tri channel .. reason .. if apple announce so early .. android community will start copy real fast to achieve the standard .. |

flash is a no no for iphone. look forward to html5. it's better.
ip5 definitely will be a new thing in the world, after all it's steve job's baby. and it doesnt matter that ip5 launch in this year or next year. we still willing to wait for it and at the meantime, we surely will get to fully utilize our current iphone with upcoming new ios5. |

yea, hope so....coz i few click too many times on home button will lead to early KO and replacing it is a hassle
 i prefer there will be a shortcut, like swipe to left (vice-versa) on top of d screen, n u get to kill apps option, enable 3g, wifi, and etc...  |

the same 3.5" retina display is staying. why waste all the effort on developing that just for one iphone and one ipod touch model? brush metal back doesn't look very 'apple'. they were already crazy about that during pre-Tiger days. im hoping for an aluminium back n plastic black bar just like the ipad the whole idea of iphone is a phone with a usable touch screen interface, doing away with keyboards altogether. adding a keyboard defeats the purpose low-cost models, i dont think so. just sell the current ip4 at a lower price. save the development cost no storage? just bcuz apple TV does it doesnt mean every apple device will do it. appleTV is something that is connected to ethernet/wifi 24/7. iphone? no. imagine needing to download again and again all the songs u want to play 3d display is already dying as a fad CDMA model is not even a rumour anymore. 100% possibility 2 SIM tray? we're talking about iphone not aiphone. how many ppl u know actually use a phone with dual SIM? it's a very small niche almost every phone manufacturer ignores i think 4G support is a no. simple reason. it's still very very rare |

Dual sim is a copyright by a china company already.. None of the major mobile phone companies could manufacture it, not that they don't care.. Samsung tried it once but was sued lol.. So even if there's a possibility, it's very very small less than 1%..

If you take a ruler, measure your iphone4 diagonally, you can almost get 5" .
So If iphone 5 can have 5" retina display without jeopadizing its size then im sold and i wont be buying the Ipad. Of coz 1080p video recording capability and direct HDMI connection are nice feature to have too. i dont mind if the camera is still 5MP like what it is now. |

Mini HDMI is a plus, but I don't find it really necessary. With AirPlay and all that. For the screen size I think 4inch is more likely and the size of the phone should remain the same as the iPhone4. IMO, I think iPhone5 will come out this year, since the competition is talking about dual core processing now, Apple will be more likely to update the hardware on the iPhone. Whether it will happen, I will still have to wait until iPhone 6. I'm pretty satisfied with the performance of the iPhone4 for now. For those who's holding your horses to buy an iPhone, you guys can try out Android since it's dirt cheap nowadays for those entry level models. RM500 can get SE X8. Pretty good deal I'd say. |

I think software enhancement is more important right now. Better iOS can bring more useful features to all iPhones such as bring in thumbdrive capability, custom SMS tone. IMO, these are the basic features that all phone should have. U can't expect every PC in the world has iTunes in it.

BusinessInsider relays an analyst report from Avian Securities which claims that the iPhone 5 won't start production until September and that this suggests that next generation iPhone won't make it to the market until the end of the year or even early next.
Supporting out comments over the last month, conversations with yet another key component supplier indicates that production for iPhone-5 will begin in September. This is consistent with Avian findings in the supply chain in recent months and we believe the consensus view is moving towards this scenario. im more interested in ios5 to be honest. but delays could also mean that apple might be delving into quadcore chips. i believe nvidia is gonna be unveiling their new qaudcore tegra's some time in the fourth quarter.

see, this is why u dont get it. when idle, the phone won't be using all 4 cores. thus the battery will not be affected. that's where the power management system comes in. and basically in a nutshell what im saying is, that the technology is already out there. and if they're delaying this phone till next year. then most probably they'll be incorporating the new quadcore chips. everything is getting smaller. have u seen the circuitboards on the ipad or iphones? they're miniscule and things are only getting smaller. smaller = more energy efficient. on another note, i don't really see any relevance in ur arguement.
bottom line, quadcore mobiles are coming and a smartphone is not just a phone. it's doing everything that's why people want these things in the first place, and gaming just happens to plays a big part in that EVERYTHING. look at apple's and android's appstore for example. majority are games. nuff said. |

with celcom's iphone pre-reg page up n running, i feel ip5 will certainly be delayed. if celcom releases the ip4 in may11, i doubt as an apple partner, they wud like to see a june release of ip5.

At the end of the day it's down to one preferences.
I jump on the apple wagon after gotten my first MacBook. But in the end I still have a backup computer, my trusty Dell. One item can't really satisfy all the needs the whole world wants. Jb is just another way for me to make full use of my ip4. My wild guess on iPhone 5. comments in () indicate my wildest speculation, with some of the technologies not even out yet.
Name will be iPhone 4Gs Same design as iP4, maybe thinner.(unibody?) comes in Black, White(or juz a big colour eINK thing wrapping it, so you can have any colour you want =D) retina display(super amoled), edge to edge screen(4 inch screen?) Iphone 5 may officially launch for 1st preview on next month!!!
We already know that Apple is not going to announce the iPhone 5 at Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 which starts from June 6, 2011. Instead, WWDC is going to be more geared towards the software side of things, and will offer previews of iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion. The reason because of which the iPhone 5 isn’t being announced at WWDC, may probably be because Sony is facing delays in getting new iPhone 5 camera modules to Apple. That’s just a speculation, however. Nevertheless, you’re not in luck if you want to attend the conference any way, as WWDC 2011 has sold out. The reports claims of a confirmed iPhone 5 release in late June, because of the fact that carriers SK Telecom and KT will be among the new carriers to officially offer the iPhone 5. ??iPhone 5,?? the next model of iPhone 4, will be released on the coming 4th week of June. In the midst of the iPhone 5 postponement rumors, Apple has confirmed that iPhone 5 will be released as planned and it will be released simultaneously in Korea through SK Telecom and KT. So iPhone 5 release won’t happen at WWDC 2011, rather Apple is going to hold a special media event that will be hosted by none other than Apple CEO Steve Jobs as well, who currently happens to be on a medical leave of absence from the company, but made a brief appearance at the iPad 2 launch event earlier last month. The legitimacy of this source is a bit doubtful, primarily because of the fact that a July iPhone 5 release contradicts the fall timeframe of the iPhone release. whats the source of this information? the picture of all the photos above seems pretty legit. but even the source doesnt seem to convinced that the phone will b out in June. but either way, i wudnt mind the new design. hahha 8mp, cant wait. and better resolution display? wow how much better can they get?  |

I heard from a friend that knows someone working in Maxis that Apple will be sending a "device" to them around June for testing purposes. My bet is the device would be the coming Iphone 5 and the testing would most probably referring to the implementation of CDMA. When it be here, it will be here. For those wit ip4, there no reason for u to be sad, i hope they better com up wit a better iOS than dual core for me, ip4 is good, but the iOS does not offer much flexibility n not good enough for me, especially on d customization.

Did u guys remembered when apple posted videos on smartphones (blackberry, htc, samsung, etc) on their site regarding signal lost due to certain hand grip a.k.a death grip.. U guys sure they fixed it already? Even my 3gs suffers signal lost if i grip it in a certain way

Man I've got a 3 year old Samsung and I'm hesitating (like at least a few thousand others) between getting the Iphone 4 or waiting for the Iphone5.
It will definitely be a nightmare to get one now and see a new one come out in 2 months time. You'll go like And reading about all the different rumours on every other tech website isn't helping either. |

It might be a good idea to wait for iPhone 5 because there are some serious flaws with iPhone 4. One flaw is the antenna that is sensitive to human touch. I got disconnected before when using my iPhone 4 naked to surf. Aldo the Home button is very prone to malfunction, just see the no. of people who have posted in the Home Button Issue topic.

iPhone 5 WILL be difficult to Jailbreak if we look at the problem with Jailbreaking the iPad 2 (the iPhone 5 will most likely use the same A5 chip as the iPad 2).
I'll probably stick with my iPhone 4 until a Jailbreak is out for the iPhone 5 (when the thing is released lorr). Cannot live without SBSettings. |
