Nono, it's different. eeepad slider is a competeley different model that come attached with keyboard that you can slide in and out, something like Nokia N97. So it's actually more like a android netbook.

At Mid Valley now, Asus got standby another 50 units for those not in preorder list.

Very lucky I'm number 181. (150 +50)

Many ppl queue up to make payment now..
*
yups... i'm one of the extra 50 people... smile.gif

anyway, no need to actually queue for payment. they gave me a badge with number and told me i can come back anytime before 9pm that day to pay and collect my unit. wondered around for 1-2 hours and then went to collect. that time, hardly anyone left in the queue. smile.gif

bought the promo package of microSD, cleaner and hdmi cable... but kinda regret it now... oh well... nvm.

i paid full for the docking station. now waiting to arrive. paid full so can claim all from income tax. if split into 2 payments, i worry hard to explain to tax officers why i summit docking station as part of claims. smile.gif

Added on May 30, 2011, 9:11 ammy transformer slipped off my hand on the day i got it. dropped like only 15cm from hard floor.

screen, etc all ok but now one corner got chipped off paint. *sigh*

i wish they would just rubberise the edges...

In JB - go and get in Spore .Stocks now available - S$ 799 with dock , about RM 1957
As the offer to first 150 no more, if buy in KL now will be RM 1499 + RM 429 for dock, total RM 1928

Yes, slightly more expensive but more conveneient if you have warranty issues to claim and also at same time plenty of choiuces on accessories
Johor Bahru despite a growing city, when come to gadgets updates is shit ; Landmark and even Danga IT Mall are both places for only outdated stuffs. I guess most JB guys buy in Spore
I buy a lot of my stuffs in Spore even though is 1.5 hours away, which is still nearer than KL 4 hours away

Checking stock while I'm in Taipei now. Going to Guanghua Digital Mall for that. A week ago when I was in LA, Fry's Electronics has it in stock, but minus the keyboard dock. Gonna check at Best Buys tomorrow when I'm in Los Angeles.

actually if not mistaken not the first 150/200 entitled for RM 301 for the dock but rather, if u buy the transformer + dock together u get it at a price of RM 1799 when it officially launches in June. The RM 429 for the dock is only applicable if you bought the transformer first, then later on buy the dock separately not as a package (this is my understanding). do correct me if i'm wrong smile.gif

i bought the full set... along with another promo package they were having at MV -- hdmi cable, screen cleaner + microSD card.

now i'm just wondering how useful are the extra stuffs... keyboard. not sure i will actually need or use it often. probably i will just consider it as an extra set of battery.

microSD. originally was planning to load my 1080 movies into the card and try watching it from Transformer. but most of my movie files are bigger than 8GB (the size of the card). then found one that's 4GB and when I copied, can't... card is in FAT32 format.

i din try it out yet... can I format the card to NTFS, copy the movie file and then try it out on the Transformer -- as in, can the Transformer read NTFS format? well, will check back later and see got reply. i'd probably be googling this anyway... smile.gif

hmmm... someone else also asked this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044559

also, the guy mentioned of p35 of the manual. what manual?!? i only got like a 10page booklet that explains the hardware buttons, etc... Grrrrrr....

hmm... i am one of the extra 50 person too, my tag number was 179, haha...
didnt actually thought of buying it that early, but friend of mine mention that there will be extra units so i tot give it a try...

good thing i ordered the keyboard along... i asked the dude there, retail gonna be RM300? he say yes... i almost thought duwan buy the keyboard first >.<

i am quite happy with my unit so far, but not much to do with it yet, Android Market keep give me that "This item cannot be installed in your country" crap, market access cant help me with that, some not so smooth transitions here and there, and my 720p video lags

I was there too to buy the full set. I only bought the HDMI cable as I dont need the microsd + screen cleaner and I feel that the price of the microsd seems a little pricey, not to mention that there are many fakes out there so I didnt want to rush into buying it. your 1080p movies are MKV? I tried playing MKV with rockplayer and mobo player on both hardware & soft decoding modes but found that the audio and video are lagging somewhat. So far only tried mp4 (h264) 720p and works flawlessly with no lags. do let me know if you managed to get 1080p mkv files played smoothly.

mine was i think 183.

i was planning to arrive there at 12 and take up any unclaimed units from 150. but things happened and i only reached there like 1+pm. saw long queue and i thought, no chance...

but still go and ask... was surprised the person said still got slots. i just grab the number first since they said i can come back later. i can still consider my purchase... after walk a bit and think a bit... but the full set. smile.gif

the market error... i think its mentioned on the other Transformer topic... could be a firmware/ configuration issue and should be fixed soon. seems the local market not recognising Malaysia+Transformer.

funny thing though is I could download FB apps and also Angry Birds Rio. well, good enough for me for now.

din try videos yet but keyboard typing was kinda slow... seems Honeycomb 3.1 will fix this, along with the video lag. that's what i read in other forums based in US where the 3.1 is already leaked out.

now that you mention... ya, i find the speakers a bit soft. i will go back and test... but i noticed that the volume at more than half bar also still cannot hear clearly. need to almost go full bar.

below half, can't really hear anything. will go back and try again tonight...

yeah, i notice that the keyboard typing is slow as well... somehow this tablet just havent manage to impress me as much as i expected... what i heard from my friend is that Market seems to be unable to recognize the WW firmware for now... might be a market side fix... and same like u, i heard 3.1 fix lags in flash and videos, many ppl say they can now play 720p on youtube without having the impression of looking into slideshows

for me, quite impressed and happy with my transformer (the tablet) purchase -- but i might just regret my purchase of the docking station, etc... well, will know when i get it.

this is my 1st android device. so, i dun mind the market issue coz it means i got time to do more exploring first. plus, got AB Rio to keep me busy a bit. but this is meant for my son and the apps i downloaded (flash cards, etc), they all work. so i'm happy...

the 3.1 should also fix they keyboard typing speed. ya, if anything that's not so impressive... i was a bit shocked that the keyboard was kinda slow. just happy that its a SW issue than can and will be fixed. smile.gif
