this is my first android device too, but a lot of the setting are quite similar with some other smartphone that i have(i shall not mention the name to avoid wars here), so i sort of get the hang of it after a short while... then everything else become boring... no games to play(i cant even get Angry Bird Rio), no flash on browser, laggy video... only fun i had with it so far was when i success rooting it, that all

you gonna need it for usb and extra juice for ur pad. besides, having physical keyboard is much more convenient than virtual.

reposting... hoping can get help on:
* any website that provides tips & tricks for Transformer (copy all, screenshot, etc -- screenshot already shared by some1 but just using it as example)
* disable keyboard from popping up
* move cursor up/down/right/left when typing...

gotta agree with this... not to mention the prediction lag.. it's rather annoying at times..

and i cant wait for the USB- OTG support when the keyboard comes XD

Added on May 30, 2011, 10:19 amas far as i know, only way to move cursor around is to tap on that spot u want to... press and hold at the text, u will see a pointer coming out, u move the pointer up and down to move your text cursor...

But it will make it bulky and heavier....I can use my home pc to do heavy typing work. The purpose for me to get tablet is the mobility.

i don mine slightly bulkier, just put inside a bag and i don think my shoulder will notice much difference in weight...

and pls let us know if the 3.1 fixes the market issue >.<

oh ya... one other negative pt abt this is... the charging cable is soooooOOOooo short.

it was partly what caused it to slip off my hands... was moving it from the floor and forgot about the short cable, so it slipped off my hands.

i hope there's another set of charger and cable that will be included with the docking set... this cable is too short. some desks might not have a power supply that close...

Added on May 30, 2011, 10:34 amif this is the only method... *sigh* not so useful for me. sometimes i point, it does not appear where i want... usually the case when two words are joined without space... wanna put it between the two words and then hit space bar.

the thing is... sometimes cannot get it right. maybe fingers are too fat. so wanna move left/right by 1-2 characters... can't seem to do it. end up, just backspace to delete the chars and re-type.

speaking of delete... is there a faster way to delete who word or sentence? i currently do 1char at a time with the delete/ backspace. hold it does not seem to delete the word/ sentence... or did i do something wrong?

so then i can assume that it's the Market somehow restricts WW firmwares to download most the apps now... honestly, this sucks

i also just tested using a US based proxy to connect to desktop site of the Market, seems like i am able to see the app details(permission needed for the apps etc etc), but since my transformer at home is not configured with proxy, i cant install it just yet, need to try after work today

Hahaha at 1ghz only. Gonna root after 3.1

Aisey...hehe..1 ghz can play avi standard n mp4 ..but 480p mkv also lag @1 ghz..

I too have issue with Android Market after getting this tablet on Saturday.

There is some sort of crappy work around that kinda work.

I have a separate Android phone, and I used "Estrongs File Explorer" to backup the apps, and then install them on the TF. Seems to work, I think even for "protected" apps as long as the Google account on both devices are the same.

i've tried a 720p youtube video downloaded using tu**mate and it was very smooth. Tried with both the build-in honeycomb gallery and moboplayer to play, no issues. Havent tried anything that is 1080p yet tho.

i can wait for the fix. no hurry for me... the apps i need to fill up my time is all available. plus, i think the fix should be easy and i expect it done in the next few days (max).

as for video lag... well, feedback from those in US who used the leaked 3.1 says its fixed. so... i think no issue. plus, again, i'm still spending my time exploring the device... have not even come to movie watching yet. so, ok la...

btw, what apps to download to watch movies (mkv)? i dun plan to root my device.
