For that budget (RM1.8-2k), I think its better to get an AMD E350- powered lappy (many choices at the moment) and put in an SSD instead (as suggested by eugenechiuu) brows.gif

Err..... even a RM1.4k netbook could handle your friend's usage? RM2-2.5k is quite overkill already laugh.gif
THe ThinkPad Edge is still one of the best subnotebooks at this time, but the specs are quite outdated already, perhaps your friend would like to wait for the new SB ULV processors?

Its powerful compared to regular Intel Atoms, and the integrated AMD HD6310 is a huge plus against the Intel GMA 3150 laugh.gif

Is the Asus K53SV available in msia yet?

This keyboard on this one looks better than the one on N53SN. The keyboard on the N53SN flexes as well so con +1 for N53SN.
