the question is therefore shud be answered, does desktop gc hav optimus??... cuz the guy above got a desktop driver on a optimus support gc for lappie and then the lappie doesnt auto switch back to integratedzz..

clean install? well if u manage a clean install with ur oem then bravo i dunno but i nvr like the idea of wiping my hdd many times
like they say each hdd got lifespan of read writes.. after that the sections cannot be used aka dead , when all turn dead, ur hdd confirm dead..
unless u use ssd then i would say reformatting keep to minimum cuz chances of writing's over the same hdd disk is higher than putting file in diffrent disk layers.
drivers, after clean install, put em carefully or u end up same probs as be4 lol.. i remember unistalling asus bloates, 1 click and all drives n bloats are put back into the hdd-back to square 1.. hence reformat again in ur case and more section are dying..

fake windows? no i dun like them.. some updates will kill ur comp cuz itz not real and windows will lock u..

it depends u know i'm using lala land's for 4 years ardy soo far 2 updates will wreck havoc but still there is always some hidden danger lurking when u update.. lets say u accidentaly update when ur assigment due 2morrow. then sure die.. probability is low but it do happen.
if formatting 0 n 1 as u say, do explain the wear n tear on disk drives, juz visit any office with it service man reformatting comps every time he stumbles a prob. u can c that it will contribute to a mountain of HDD written fail unknown issue. and itz not seagate, samsung wd tosh u name it.. all will wear even without gaming, so long u exceed, ur hdd may unexpectedly fail. gaming? do offices do gaming.
if u wan further explanation, go buy 1 portable fan, no a notebook cooler from CM will even tell u that itz fan has a life cycle of how many spins/hours
all machines will fail and the disks arnt perfect. machine head accidentally hitting the disk cause bad sectors are inevitable. u think reformatting destroys bad sectors? no way.. permanent damage is done deal. no recovery options.go read HHD life cycle.
as mention ssd u can reformat crazy amount of times is that the wear level is soo low that even u keep reformatting n writting stuff u will hav 2 w8 till u r 50+ years old be4 u c damage.

plz install a software n check ur current hhd wear level, bad sectors corrupted sectors etc

hmm.. maybe the keyboard flex cuz the air intake like some1 here mention to me is under the keyboard itzself? soo nid air space for air flow but the designers didnt put thrust bars between the space?
if soo i would still prefer it under my keyboard.. if they draw the air from the speakers then our B&O wouldnt be B&O..
why cant designers draw air from the front side not under the laptop/keyboard/speakers? and blow em out behind.. putting em on the left side always feels toasty for my left hands(if not typing)?

well if u had the sv version, i don't think heat is such a big issue.. sn's i7 i the one that bakes cakes, drawing air from front or from keyboards only hav 1 good point, we can use lappies on carpets and beds.. other will get choked up by the cotton fluf and puff out black dust.
juz asking is the sv fast? cuz i nearly went for the sv cuz the pple in lowyat said no stock for sn for like the whole march..

cuz ur 1333 mhz ram will clock down to 1066 mhz and therefore its all 8 gb 1066 mhz. ram..
however since u bought 4 gb 1333 mhz ram and u think that is preetty cheap, itz better u upgrade ur 1066 mhz ram to 1333mhz and sell the 1066 mhz ones as 2nd hand new.
the outcome of having 1333 mhz. 8 gb is way better than having 1066mhz 8gb with or without downclocked ram mod.
how much u paid to upgrade 4 gb 1333mhz?

heat issuesleh, juz a rough guess, the air vents below (direct air intake) are greater than the sn (keyboard?) so with cooler pads, pple can direct the air into the air intake, unlike the sn, whoever is siao enuf to put a fan blowing on their keyboard?<some1 do a check on idle mode for both would be great>
soo maybe it gives it the edge.. but maybe only.. dimension wise, hp really gotta redirect the air in that tiny space ya know?
