the biggest issue in android is the way it saves apps.if someone doesnt want to root his device, there is no a good and safe way to free space in internal memory.and because companies saw that google is not going to change that, in their new models they put big internal memory.but acer unfortunatelly doesnt know this and persists to 512mb rom.they are going to release the excellent on other parts acer iconia smart and they have again only 512 rom!!!

I strongly recommend you try the tool - Link2SD. See the detail below:
QUOTE
That program works like a charm. I used to use Titanium Backup but with all my apps it was surfing pretty close to that 20MB mark. But now that I am using that ad2sd I've got 72MB available. I can even install other apps if I wanted to now. Thanks folks.

SGSZ is more future proof. Coupled with the SCLCD it should be the wiser choice. But since the SGS+ uses the S-AMOLED+, it should be okay aside from the fact that its a single core phone. But 1.5ghz and still overclockable is really tempting. I gotta side with SGS+ for this one due to personal preferences. Anyways, both of these phones should be okay.

u can read review from this also.
Anandtech latest Droid X2 review..
he prefering RGBW for the lcd.

QUOTE
The HTC Sensation is a very good phone all round and the tests we ran gave us no reason to doubt it. But it's by no means perfect. The death grip issue is one thing (check our our two tests), but the battery life failed to impress too when it came to web browsing.
The camera is good, though there are better, and the screen fails to reach to the top of mobile screen goodness. The performance benchmarks did well to demonstrate the power of the 1.2GHz dual-core chipset, but the browser definitely needs more work. The GPS performance left us with nothing to complain though.
Here are a few bullet points that cover the impressions each test left us.
Good screen, but viewing angle and contrast are not the best
Still camera does well, though 8MP perfection is out of reach
Video camera is okay for casual users and records great audio, videophiles will find some faults
Performance is generally good
Web browser needs to be optimized
Good loudspeaker performance
Better output audio quality than the other two
Good battery life for watching videos, but web browsing drains it too fast
Excellent GPS performancе

QUOTE
If you still like the Sensation you shouldn't let comparisons get to you. And we're not implying either that one has to be an HTC fan to buy it. We'll say it again, it's a good-looking phone with plenty to like. It's just that there're some excellent alternatives for your hard earned cash. Now, who would say no to that?

do you own one? what mini cant do as an android phone?

and what criteria should a phone have to become one?
*
my officemate own one.
and i play with it sometime.
my criteria..maybe its my bad.
if entry lvl phone.
i always set target.

at least pls beat this cheap Spice.

1. in Screen ( size, resolution,colour)
its just losing badly with that cheapo spice.
screen real estate is quite small.and pixelate
font when browsing looks bad on it.

2. user support for custom ROM.
coz entry lvl phone with low memory wil always need a good custom ROM.
u end up wants more memory in just few days or a week downloading.

3. Flash support is consider luxury item for now.
all entry lvl android dont have it..xcept that Wildfire's that got somekind of flash lite in it.
but not supported on all browser.

i just wanna help new user that wanna choose their 1st android.
at least, they can justify their purchase price.
if u buy an RM9xx Ace, but u just can get a good X5 at much2 better spec.

Added on July 11, 2011, 12:33 amany android device should have at least 1gb of internal memory.

apps saved in sd card doesnt mean it solely reside on sd. it still take up space in internal memory. google dalvik-cache.
*
yup.

same as HTC Desire.
my fren always asking me to help put custom ROM for him.
just can stand that low memory problem. even after move apps to SD.
and honestly.. HTC phone is quite a pain to make it work perfect with custom ROM

Added on July 11, 2011, 1:17 amcheap SGS2.. go get it who want and got $$

yeah. From CSL.
but not make by CSL.
actually theres more than 10 brand from the same model.
just differ in sticker name and cover. underneath is the same hardware.

and as for today, u can read lots of good review for it. and its built quality is good also
(not feel like a cheap phone).
and since its marketed worldwide, there are many custom roms and support u can search for.

Honestly not having flash on a low end phone is not really a big deal as theres Skyfire. Video playback might be choppy and it might look bad but thats what they get if they opt for a low end phone.
Anways, how would flashing roms on Desire not work perfectly. Even with other phones there won't be perfect flashes. Minor issues might occur here and there.
If you're going to use the phone for a long time i suggest you cancel off Spice. Build quality is below average and the customer service is terrible. Galaxy Mini should be the optimum choice. If you're just buying one to test the waters then Spice would be okay.
*
erm..
last time i check, skyfire need pay one to use. no more free service
latest release dunnoe if they make it free again.

yup. Custom ROM with Desire is more problem than others. even after lots of try. stil not become comfortable to use.
not like my Spice n Defy. very easy to make it almost perfect.

lol..
Spice below average? u should try use it 1st.
and for new user try asking all user at here.
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1859602/+1840&#entry43596740
just helping to make a better choice. Mini wont cut it.
seriously. sweat.gif

xDarkKnightx: galaxy mini? urm.. compare the xperia x8 and galaxy mini which one better?
*
yups.
sure hard to sell back that CSL at shop.
and if sell in garage sales can fetch at least RM3xx.(loss around RM2++)
same as those mini,x8, will fetch around 3xx-4xx (loss araound 2xx also)

if u stil wanna go for others than mi300, x8 sure is better.
just 3.0" LCD is kinda hard to type on. and x8 abit on fatty side than mini.
and just dont give high hope if wanna browsing internet on mini.

Thanks for the informative reply!  rclxms.gif  Sadly  cry.gif , I'm still on the fence.  unsure.gif
1. How many ROM does the P1000 have? Couldn't find any accurate answer on the web. Some said 512MB, some said 2GB.

2. Another thing I'm concerned about is the GPU. Both i9000 and P1000 share a lot of common, including the GPU(SGX540). Despite the same GPU, both have different resolution, and P1000 had to handle more resolution than the i9000. Logically, I figured this would cause some slow or lag compared to S while scrolling or browsing. Is this true? Do you feel laggy or choppy while web browsing or playing game? I prefer a lag free experience (browsing, scrolling, gaming, apps etc).

This is the video I noticed the scrolling lag while browsing. Scrolling starts at 2:20. The difference is greater when he blows out and scroll at 3:00.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV_ICnXEQjg&feature=related

3. Display wise, yes I can live the with the ghosting if it's hardly noticeable like you said. However is the legibility low under strong sun condition? Given the brightest screen setting, can I read the screen under strong sun?

4. Finally (I think should be final  biggrin.gif ), softwares and firmwares. I'm looking for more fun between the i9000 and P1000. Fun in sense of playing, rooting, flashing and tweaking etc. I would love to learn more about Android, which of these 2 offers more rooting, flashing and tweaking options? And application compatibility, can P1000 play everything an i9000 can play?
From some comments above I learnt that people are discussing the SGS+. Is it available in Msia? What is the price like? I would love to go for it if the price is reasonable. I read that initially the SGS+ is for Russia.

source: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_p...-review-604.php
"The Samsung I9001 Galaxy S Plus is heading to Russia under the name of Galaxy S 2011 Edition but will probably reach other markets too."

Any suggestion on existing or upcoming device that fits my criteria would be very much appreciated too. Thank you! notworthy.gif  biggrin.gif
*
if u want best of both world..
go for Tab ( provided its price is good)
yeah more versatile lo. biggie screen nicer to browsing, check lowyat.net, fbooking, utube, watch movie, reading manga, play casual game,

but if u wanna use it as go anywhere smartphone..
(Tab cant put on ur pocket. k icon_idea.gif )
go for Galaxy.

Since Incredible S and Desire S are priced so similarly, what factors would make one go for the Desire (other than the aluminium unibody)?
Blackberry users are like dinosaurs to Android users.  Haha!
