QUOTE(ashingburning @ Mar 25 2011, 06:01 PM) juz wanna know.. If you want to read this completely, browse heresome1 told me, it is not good use the batt while the lappy is plugged in.. and i dunno is it true or not... anybody can conform this?? this laptop remind me this thing... Short answer: 1. no need to unplug battery after fully charge 2. remove your battery before doing heavy gaming and leaving it over night for torrent, etc 3. DONT use battery till 0% 4. A charge cycle is NOT count as number of time you charge ur battery. say, u use 50%, charge back 100%, that is only half cycle. 5. HEAT is #1 enemy of your battery Read more here |

QUOTE(8u8u @ Mar 25 2011, 06:15 PM) a lot of factors play into part. imho, one strategy they are doing better than other competitor is their aggressive (and fast) in producing latest technology to client. i remember reading one article, they OVERBROUGHT Intel Core i series until there is shortage.http://www.electronista.com/articles/10/03...tel.cpu.supply/ So, they roll out new technology fast to get quick cash. Then, they are very careful in production of the system. Unlike other competitors that usually have products ready world-wide. To be able to support that, competitor must build a system in huge number. Acer, on the other hand, very careful in selecting which country has which model. They only produce limited number to support that. Imagine what will happen to 'old' notebook if a competitor produced too many of them? Anyway, I am not working in Acer, this is all just theory. IMHO, a better distributions strategy (fast in, fast out) can save computer maker save more $ than cutting conner on hardware... i mean, a cheaper speaker, cheaper keyboard, etc probably can only save so much... being a hardware manufacturer, the hardwares are probably cheap...http://www.electronista.com/articles/10/03...tel.cpu.supply/ So, they roll out new technology fast to get quick cash. QUOTE(reevephon @ Mar 26 2011, 01:18 PM) Do you think there will be any benefit for the buyer to purchase their unit from the event? Example like extra warranty? Not sure if there is anything extra, not even sure if you can buy it in the event! But if you can, you reserved the right to brag about your new machine here! |

QUOTE(barca96 @ Mar 26 2011, 01:52 PM) some people prefer the new chiclet keyboard, mostly because they worry of dust stuck in the old TimelineX floating-island keyboard... i have been using it 5 months, only clean it once... so, no problem for me...some people prefer the old floating-island keyboard because you can type very fast with it... for me, i still hate both keyboard because of the small directional keys... may be fine if u dont play game... |

QUOTE(xearsol @ Mar 26 2011, 10:32 PM) @cowithgun : wow, did the new rig perform as equal as our dell? mine was core 2 duo 2.0ghz, 4gb ddr2 ram, 8400m gs (replaced twice due to overheating), and i just recently purchased a new 6 cell battery. Here is what I wrote when I first got the notebook last Oct:"The core i-5 460M running @ 2.53GHz and turbo boost @ 2.8GHz is fast enough for running a few OS in Vmware concurrently without a sweat. I feel further swiftness as compared to my XPS1330's T9300 which also running @2.5GHz. The ATI 5650 is REALLY powerful. I was running Street Fighter 4 @1366x768 max setting (with no AA), I got more than 9000 score, rank A. Running Starwars TFU running at 1360x768 with High Detail, the fan is not even at high speed. Running Starcraft 2 High setting @1366x768 has no lag at all (in fact, it's really smooth) even with 8 protoss carrier attacking." Read further: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1606856 After 5 months of using this, it just got better. With updated Catalyst, my SF4 score more than 10k, I am playing game like crazy with this notebook. My boot time is around 25 seconds... the notebook runs cooler, quieter, screen is even brighter than XPS1330. I dont believe I posted this before: ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(xearsol @ Mar 26 2011, 11:01 PM) wow, how much did you buy the acer? i see that your charger cable has become the dreaded perm-like cable. same as mine, but mine is more worse than yours. reading your review, seems that i have gained a bit more confidence on purchasing an acer on my next purchase u got sharp eyes! those photo was never release because i always wanted to remove those objects from the tables... it's so messy... but lazy to do so... i cant really say for other model, but the 3820tg has been highly acclaimed by many to be damn good. anyway, my notebook just 5 months old... so, i cant really tell what will happen tomorrow k, wanna continue playing Dragon Age 2 in DX11 mode... |
