I don't think results are that bad. Try to take Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering. Good salary and prospect there. smile.gif rclxm9.gif

with your results(both of you) going for A-levels or STPM should not be a problem. directly going for diploma should not be a problem as well.
depending on the course that you applied and the university, you should be able to enroll unless they have a quota on how many students can be enrolled for that course(probably due to available mechanics, machineries and available teaching materials like lab wares).

many colleges around that will accept a lot of students as long as you meet their minimum requirements(they want your money $.$ to keep the college running). colleges like KTAR accepts nearly everyone who applies.

if study in degree, the ptptn loan is still seen by spm result huh..? hmm.gif

Hi cheryl and michiyo ...

learning music is a niche if you ask me. with the kind of talent and skills you have, chances of u succeeding in this field is high if only you continue to have passion for it.

with a bachelor degree in music, you can be a music teacher, lecturer, performer, composer, and heck, you can even consider opening your own music school if you hv the dreams and capabilities to do it.

there are many majors within the music industry - composition, music arrangement, performance, music education etc ...

I know of a few colleges who offer music degree courses:

1) ICOM (international college of music) @ Setapak
2) UCSI @ Cheras
3) Yamaha @ Kelana Jaya
If you think that colleges are expensive, best public uni that offers music course is UPM (if i m not mistaken, you need to do STPM before you are qualified to enter public uni .. i don't know about music, but you can always call the faculty up to ask).

I always believe that once you have set your heart into something you are passionate about, go for it. Many high school leavers are often stuck at the next road(s) to take simply because they do not know what they want to do in the future .. or they have not found their passion yet.

but from the look of your posts, it seems like you have found it .. why not pursue it? Parents are mostly concern that you will not be able to earn a living with a music degree.. but i disagree strongly in this. I have known of people who made it in the music industry .. all it takes is persistence, hard work and passion ... you can convince your parents with your determination ...

here's wishing you all the best in your future undertakings ... thumbup.gif

Your results ok la... I have seen worst.

Atleast you guys still have credits. Can study any diploma or degree that you want.

Have you guys decided what to do? If you guys have, then go to edu fairs or open days & see la.

If haven't, I reco take STPM or A'levels....( that's what I'm gonna do anyways)

As someone who has done some math in college, and the same math all engineering students will have to go through, I suggest that you forget about engineering since you got an E for Add Math. I believe the standard for Add Math in SPM is already very low, so an E really means you can't do math. One truth is, people who get A1 or now the A+ also struggle with college math.

Anything else, well I guess you should have been thinking about this long before you took SPM, so my advice is to take the most general Pre-U you can afford and think about what you wanna do carefully during your Pre-U year.

i got

bm: A-
bi: A
agama: B
mathematics: C
sejarah: C+
physics: D
chemistry: D
addmath: E
rekacipta: A+

seriously, i can take engineering? but from college/private U right? im not determined yet what i want to be, but my father is an engineer, i want to make him proud to follow his footsteps. but just look at my results, my addmath and physics. sometimtes, i feel like want to be a lawyer, but in the law course, we must read and memorize stuff, and thats not really my thing. so, i did some research about IT Project Management, but i dont really get what course do i have to take to get into the stream. and now, im all serabut. ah dang. someone, ur opinion will be highly appreciated.

and, one thing, i dont really know if my parents would want to spend their money on me for the private U/college. so yeh. :S

Of course it's normal! Only a handful of SPM students know what they really want to do. Since you are still pondering about your interests, my only advice is take Pre-U.

And since your sciency related subjects results are not good, perhaps it's time for you to change to arts. I don't know how well you studied during your Form 5, I will assume that you are weak in science. And let me tell you one thing. Following your father's footstep is good, but you shouldn't do this to impress your father. And what if you can't score well for engineering course? You think he will still proud of you? More like making him worry and wasting lots of money for your educations.

If your parents don't feel wanna pay too much for your pre-u life, your only alternative route is STPM. Do well in it and do some soul searching for yourself.
