what kind of science?

for engineering, i think u can forget about it since they will look at add maths result (E) and physics ©

to bcom a professional performer, u need to have the practical skill as well. did u learn piano or any other instruments? what grade r u?

Woah u got a for chem but e for add maths ar?? Neway dont worry dude i was not 2 far off i got 2a all b the worse day of my life still remembered but i did engineering i suffered initially then not 2 say its a great thing or what but now i am an engineer. After spm i was doubtful of myself low confidence n all n never pay attention but after awhile i got back my focus n concentrate on my studies so it was ok.But what i can tell u i think u should go either into  some business program or usci got some music programs please check out =)
But what are subjects do u really like to learn???I suggest do something u are passionate about cz u will do better at what you are passionate about then something that u are forced 2 learn talking by experience =) good luck and all d best to you and please dont worry 2 much spm is the past and focus on the future =) Btw you can get ptptn loan =)
*
will be able to get the loan??if i study in UCSI,the loan amount is big plus both of my parents are government workers, its hard for me to get the loan from PTPTN.

if u can sacrifice ur sleep, ur karok time, ur date & rempit time and become a diligent person, i dunt see any problem if u wanna proceed in science. but u need to compete hardly with others for enrollment. there's always PTPTN and IPTS if u unable to get scholarship and IPTA. if u score at least 3.5 CGPA in the first year definitely u can apply any scholarship offered by some foundations or private firms. PTPTN is now convertible to scholarship depending on ur final year CGPA.

choose ur path wisely

seriously,i so regret with my bad spm result.cuz i din't put enuf of effort in it.i know i can do it,but i think i was lazy.now i learn from mistake,i will do anything to achieve what i wana be in my future,i willing to sacrifice my other wasting time activities and use it for my studies.but now i is i got no idea which U or college to go,i more interested in science subject example, biochemical, pharmaceutical, psychology, biomedic, chemical engineering

huhuhu. im determined not to be the lazy person like i used to be at school. i guess if foundation programmes wont accept me, then form6 is the answer. i frustrate cuz cant go matrix anymore. huhuhuuhuhuhu

i love music so much.. but what public unis offer that course? and my parents wont support me for that. in music, what can i be??? lecturer??
*
i agree with what you say, i wanted to study music at first, but both of my parents strongly object with my decision, they are not supporting and encouraging me to study more in music...

like i said, if you intend to do these at degree level, you will still need to have a pre-u, so you will still need to go somewhere for one of the available pre-u programmes.......ucsi itself have a-levels......

alternatively, if you are sure of what you want to do, then you can go straight into a foundation programme that leads to the course you want....

'science' is a vague term at degree level......if you mean pure science, then you will have to specify which, eg physics, chemistry, biology/zoology, mathematics, etc......

spm is the last common exam for most msians, and is a good general guide to a person's academic ability........

people with poor results, like ts, should look towards skill based further education, rather than academic......music may be an option, as ts obviously is blessed with music talents.......performance is possible, but the money will come with teaching eventually.....and it is a reasonable occupation......

+1. not saying ts has poor results btw. generally there are only book smart vs street smart students and the rare ones that have both. if you're not the rare bunch or the book smart ones then you should obviously focus on your passion that can create something with value to the future. it can be a service (btw if u are an engineer, you are of service to your company n country) or a business. simply put it, you are worth as much as your skills. even if you are a doc, engineer that graduated wit 1st class honours, u get a ticket to more choices of companies, bigger firms n organisations.

doesnt mean bigger public listed companies are better than smaller ones. in those companies, ur skills still matter, after all, the company wants only the best of the best who can get the job done and get them the profit, not the best student of Uni of (insertnamehere) 2012. n how quickly you develop them depends on your passion n your strengths.

haters, im not saying academics are not important, but they do not determine your success in the future. its all in your hands. so do what you love, and love what you do.

true

hehhehe

however i love music. at the same time i love science which is pharmacy. i will do anything to pursue my dream career! i wanna go for pharmacy which i wanted to be for so long. no $$, so i'd better go form6. but i wonder why no people encourage diploma in science. it leads to be pharmacist too right. only it takes 3 years.

universities like UNIMAS, UIAM, and other unis, do graduates from there can get job too for pharmacy? i wonder why people love UM so much...i know it's top 1st in malaysia. but, other unis offer job also rite?

and i kinda have the NEGATIVE feeling here. since in my place, RARELY people got 4A's for STPM. In west m'sia, got like hundred score 4 or 5 A's. In my place , only 21 something. AND FOR ALIRAN SAINS, only 6 score better. which im so scared to go for STPM.

You wanna do engineering? Good.
Cause with your result you can continue to form 6 science stream. You need science subjects to pursue study in engineering. I hope you'll get offer to continue form 6 science stream.
If you got it, then you should study with your best, no more SPM-ish play-play. All the best! =)

Eh i should be the one who are worried about my results.
Your result is considered good in that way

At least you had quite number of As there though =)
Btw,don't be so discouraged you can continue with engineering/physic if you're interested
But you have to put more effort into the study then, add maths is real hard though, but how could you get E...

Hi cheryl and michiyo ...

learning music is a niche if you ask me. with the kind of talent and skills you have, chances of u succeeding in this field is high if only you continue to have passion for it.

with a bachelor degree in music, you can be a music teacher, lecturer, performer, composer, and heck, you can even consider opening your own music school if you hv the dreams and capabilities to do it.

there are many majors within the music industry - composition, music arrangement, performance, music education etc ...

I know of a few colleges who offer music degree courses:

1) ICOM (international college of music) @ Setapak
2) UCSI @ Cheras
3) Yamaha @ Kelana Jaya

If you think that colleges are expensive, best public uni that offers music course is UPM (if i m not mistaken, you need to do STPM before you are qualified to enter public uni .. i don't know about music, but you can always call the faculty up to ask).

I always believe that once you have set your heart into something you are passionate about, go for it. Many high school leavers are often stuck at the next road(s) to take simply because they do not know what they want to do in the future .. or they have not found their passion yet.

but from the look of your posts, it seems like you have found it .. why not pursue it? Parents are mostly concern that you will not be able to earn a living with a music degree.. but i disagree strongly in this. I have known of people who made it in the music industry .. all it takes is persistence, hard work and passion ... you can convince your parents with your determination ...

here's wishing you all the best in your future undertakings ... thumbup.gif
