i'm on MIUI now... how do i check imei?? weirdly i cant seem to connect to the telco... no service... is that the baseband problem?
*
Our sifu freakfingers should be able to answer that.

- try lock and unlock screen
- check imei by dialing *#06# if it is changed, copy the content of backed up efs folder into /efs folder

My SMS and contact icon are missing in the default launcher after restore apps with titanium backup. Help!!!
*
1. At the home screen, touch menu, then touch Add.
2. Choose shortcuts.
3. Choose Application.
4. From the application list, choose Messaging. The SMS icon will be added to the home screen.
5. Long touch the icon, then drag to the normal SMS icon place.

Do the same steps for contact icon. Actually you can put any icon to the place. For me, i put the facebook icon.

Do you have a backed up /efs folder? Maybe long time ago before flashing custom rom? The instruction explicitly says to flash the efsbackup.zip

You're on B8r2? A lot of ppl get this cos the script doesn't restore efs. Since you have efs in backup/efs, then flash to Beta 7 then flash to Beta 8r2. Remember to wipe at least /system and /cache before flashing each Beta.
Lock and unlock everytime you boot, or else you most probably have choppy animation and no signal. It's a CM7 bug.

Does copying the backed up content of efs folder into /efs work too?

Also, I thought beta 8r2 is based on official miui, not cm7.

Hmm, I don't know. Never tried that radio. Best I tried is JPY.
Yeah, that should be your problem. It's not hard, no data is lost anyway.

MIUI itself is based on CM7 sources. So the chinese's official rom also still have these CM7 drawbacks.

where can i find a desktop dock like this one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Galaxy-S-T-Mobile-T959...=item53e6bd221a

is it good for the battery if we always connect the usb cable as it will charge the battery and after a while we disconnect it, and later connect, disconnect again, (transferring files) ?

Thank you so much. Now I got it working.

Anyway, When I look at the Gingerbread from youtube. It looks silky smooth. However, it's still on RFS if I'm not wrong.
So, initial experience will be extremely good, but will get slower over time (Someone told me this before)
Better to wait till lagfix is available and stable for this Ginger.
Lastly, My SGS with Simply ROM 2.7 Quadrant score is higher than the gingerbread, result = 1400++
However, Why couldn't I make screen capture in this ROM. Anyone experienced this? A bug? or the feature being disabled?
