QUOTE(wai2kit @ May 2 2011, 10:19 PM) With the way Liverpool are performing and playing now without Gerrard and Torres is delicious! sooner or later Gerrard will be used sparingly in order to accommodate the likes of Spearing and Shelvey. Poulsen will definitely leave. so Gerrard will be used wisely by Kenny in order to keep him fresh and almost injury free.People who used to call Liverpool a two-men team can't say the same anymore. Saying that it's hard to see who Gerrard will replace once he's fit. The current lineup is quite strong. Added on May 2, 2011, 11:53 pmCarragher really keen on Europa league next season. I'd be the first to admit that I was strong about Suarez. I had doubts about his temperament, but he sure is making me eat my words.
Poor guy came here to play with Torres and not be his replacement, so I do hope we win loads of trophioes trophies soon as to appease his ambitions. |

QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ May 2 2011, 01:04 PM) Wanna ask u guys this, a question that an arsenal supporting friend posted on FB for Liverpool fans: which would u prefer, Man Utd winning the 19th title, or Torres winning the league immediately after leaving Liverpool? Pretty straightforward for me. Torres winning the league. I still appreciate him for what he's done here and very few things are bigger than the long standing rivalry between our teams.I tried to put myself in a liverpool fans shoes and wow...it is a dilemma and I think there would be different opinions. Any thoughts? |

I have little doubt that Hyypia will return one day in a coaching capacity. His ability to read the game made up for his lack of pace. I was in Australia when we signed a little known Finn call Hyypia but he's ensured that we now never forget it. He left at the right time if you ask me, before his legs gave in totally. Our lack of pace at the back was sorely exposed when we paired him with Mauricio Pellegrino. He and Henchoz leaked very few goals compared to everyone else but we also need to attribute this to Houllier's ultra-defensive approach to games where we had every man behind the ball bar Michael Owen. Still, whenever Hyypia was in the side, you knew our airspace was safe.

Still, whenever Hyypia was in the side, you knew our airspace was safe. true. Hyypia might be an excellent defender but i doubt he can cope with EL game speed in his latter stage of his career. He was never blessed with pace but his perfect timing for tackle, positioning and game play ability make up for his lack in speed. on that, he need to rely on his defensive partner (henchoz and Carra) which more speedy than him to do the job of backing him or vice versa. if against pacy strikers like Torres or suarez he might be badly exposed. that's why he excelled in stopping the likes of Shearer and Van Nistelrooy. |

QUOTE(Immunityx7 @ May 2 2011, 11:14 PM) I started watching Liverpool during the 1997 season but Hypiia really won my heart when he was playing. Had I been able to afford to get Liverpool jerseys earlier, his name would have been the one on my first Liverpool jersey instead of Gerrard's. No words can express how sad I am when he left Liverpool after 10 years and no words can express how I feel seeing that he's retired from football. YNWA. |

Nothing stopping you from having his name ironed on now. He's retired and is a Liverpool legend. Do one in honour of that.QUOTE Hyypia 4 Forever our Sami Something like that. QUOTE(rushmode @ May 3 2011, 01:27 PM) and Hamann so effectively breaking the attacks before it reach both of them.. Hamann was amazing. Before signing for us he had the reputation of being a journeyman but after settling at Anfield, he became an adopted scouser. Unlike Mascherano, Didi seldom went to ground. His anticipation and reading of the game was so astute, he was able to move himself into position even before the ball was played. Single handedly nullified Kaka during Istanbul as well. Another legend. He's currently coaching at Leicester. What are the chances of seeing him and Hyypia side by side some time in the future after they've gained some experience? QUOTE(rushmode @ May 3 2011, 01:27 PM) I know right? Was thinking the same thing. It's super cool. If you're registered on RAWK, you could try sending the poster a PM. |
