QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Apr 25 2011, 02:47 PM) The new Inspiron 14R should have switchable graphics The AMD HD6630 has overclocking potential Other than that, the only good thing about the Inspiron 14R would be the warranty... its too glossy compared to the Acer 4830Tg I agree in terms of the warranty :| 4830TG feels and looks great, certainly exceeded my expectations And earlier mentioned HP Pavilion G4... I can't find it

I overlooked at what ASUS offers :| What the spec and price for N43SL and A43SV? Also, VRAM for HP G4's AMD HD6470? I don't want Dell LOL

QUOTE(JYong @ Apr 25 2011, 04:05 PM) But it's integrated battery, not suitable for gaming~ It's true though Sadly I wanna wait for AMD's Llano, but no idea when are the laptops gonna come out with some decent models

QUOTE(ljf123 @ Apr 26 2011, 12:17 PM) in your opinion which one better ? 4830 build in battery right? cant remove put right? Yupe, pretty much that Internal battery one thing bad is when you do game, the laptop gets heated up and roast the battery. Not good, but slimmer design

QUOTE(low577 @ May 2 2011, 12:16 AM) 1. Brand: Any brand will do. Currently have my eyes on Acer's 4830tg and 5750 2. Budget: More or less 2.5k 3. Specs: Decent specs, can play maybe pro evo in high setting or any other high graphic games in medium settings also can and can watch HD videos flawlessly.. 4. Size: If possible lightweight.. the 4830tg really meets my requirment but i am vry concern with the integrated battery and because its new, scared got problems.. Thanks! I'm scared of it too As what information I got is that internal batteries aren't that practical if you do game on it a lot I guess maybe the heat will roast up your batteries

LOL There are no perfect laptops I guess? But still, the 4830TG seems to be satisfying... what's the use if you have a 540M GT with 2GB VRAM and you don't game?

QUOTE(SomaCruz89 @ May 2 2011, 03:59 PM) Hi guys, I'm interested with Aspire 5750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M and N53SV, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M. But i still can decide which one to buy? I would prefer a better speaker and without heat problems(I had enough with overheating with mine Compaq CQ40 126AU!!!!). Frankly speaking, all mine friends say Acer laptops suck due to many issues/problems. Is that true? Any Acer user would like to clarify this? I heard that Asus is the most reliable laptop? So, i should go for Asus but with slighly higher price than Acer? Any comments from sifus? I'm no professional but based on what I got is that some people says Acer sucks and some says Acer rocks I played with a few models and it's very hard to generalise Some are awesome, some aren't that good, even on the same product line ASUS is overall a more reliable one though, but Acer good ones are just the ultimate bang for buck

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 3 2011, 10:10 AM) Battery life will vary depending on screen size and also the dedicated GPU used What about a given estimation of a 13 or 14 inch laptop? GPU depends on those available on the market of course.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 3 2011, 02:47 PM) Still hard to say la There's a lot of factors involved, including the size of the battery... Anyway, let's take the 13" Toshiba Portege R830 for example (i5-2410M + Intel HD3000, 6-cell battery)... its capable of up to 7 hours  Your recommendation if I take a laptop that has a 6 cell battery goes below RM2.3k with dedicated GPU. Don't mind if there's no switchable graphics and don't matter if it's AMD or NVIDIA EDIT : Preferably hackintosh-able This post has been edited by Koki: May 3 2011, 03:07 PM

It's saddening too how Intel's HD 3000 is required minimum to run Portal 2. Still though, I doubt that Intel HD3000 is as bad as it sounds to be, have to test yourself to know By the way, N43 models are out in Malaysia right? Which is?

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 5 2011, 09:21 PM) Well, all new SB laptops now will at least have Intel HD3000 or even better dedicated GPUs... its good to see such a huge leap in terms of CPU/GPU Huh? Intel HD3000 was never bad to start with... many were surprised at what it can do when it was 1st launched haha No N43 at all in the latest brochure... not even N43Sl.... guess it ain't coming after all Yeah, I was surprised by the HD3000, waaaaaaaaay above my expectations but below my condition =\ Anyway though, I swear I saw the ASUS product guide for April on PC Fair that HAS that N43SL behind for RM2599 I swear I didn't see that wrongly, I still have it at my KL house. I'm at Ipoh now though

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 6 2011, 08:53 AM) Well, for those who don't game (and thus don't get laptops with dedicated GPUs)... it would be good to know that the Intel HD3000 would be powerful enough to satisfy their daily needs But for gamers like us hehe, Intel HD3000 is only there for power saving Yeah, I believe you: [attachmentid=2197323] Its just weird that for the N43SL and 1215b, there appeared in last month's brochure but vanished in this month's one It's weird how ASUS is teasing us. I've been waiting for quite a long time to lay my eyes on that babe. I saw the N53SV during PC Fair though, played with the speakers and it just sounds bad compared to Dell's JBL Both tested at the Intel PC Guru thing.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 6 2011, 04:36 PM) I dunno what Asus Malaysia is doing I've waited until gave up already haha Yeap, apparently the JBL speakers in Dell are much better than that of Asus... Personally I think the harman/kardons in Toshibas are also better than the B&Os Have you tried out harman/kardons bro? I thought about waiting for N43 SB models but till there's now still no sight at all It's disappointing I did try out the Toshiba's harman/kardon on older Satellite laptops I still think the Dell JBL is better ASUS handled the B&O quite poorly.

QUOTE(chchyong89 @ May 7 2011, 12:17 AM) Hi, i wan to ask, is it acer has stop users to upgrade the ram themself? Because there are stickers on each of the screw mount on my friend's new acer 4750-i3-2310. Stated warranty void if seal is broken. Is it another way to add the ram without voiding the warranty? 2GB ram is totally, cannot. If they did cover the RAM plate, then yes Go back to the dealer and ask?

Eh, talking about headphones, anyone got the Neckband? Any comments? I'm using a 5Hv2 myself, just thought of surveying about the Neckband. And what type of external speakers you speak of? Choiix Boom Boom Speaker?

QUOTE(AlexLai @ May 8 2011, 01:06 AM) Neckband is uncomfortable for prolonged use. It puts pressure on your ears in order to keep it on your head. Sound quality wise, nothing to shout about. High in treble, has more bass than the 5Hv2. Such extensive information! I'm using an Edifier C3 myself I just love it
