QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Mar 17 2011, 12:20 AM) That's why treat it as worse case scenario, a NO ? Well, those who blindly bought the laptop would be ranting though. Not all customers can accept such thing.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 21 2011, 04:19 PM) Well, its still very new... benchmarks will probably be available after a few weeks? Want to be the 1st one to try it out? hehe Dell's warranty confirm good, build quality of the Inspiron Rs are also above average... As long as the laptop is covered by warranty it'll be fine Based on what I know... 3 of my friends have Dell laptops and it lasts till 2 years, when warranty ends even the hardware dies. But 3 more friends lasts more than 3 years still working great! I have some doubts about his though

back again to see if there's any updates...
1. Brand - any 2. Budget - best if <2.5k, can fork out a little more 3. Specs - i5 sandy bridge best, must have switchable graphics + nvidia 540 at least 4. Size - 14 inch

QUOTE(SRLee @ Mar 24 2011, 01:24 AM) Thanks for giving me some basic information. I've found two models, U36JC-RX162V and U41JF-WO134V. Why is the 14" (U41J) laptop cheaper than the 13.3" (U36JC) laptop? In your opinion, is it really necessary to spend up to RM5,000 to buy a laptop that will be primarily be used for purposes of studying? My opinion is no. 5k is too much already Primarily use to study I think depends on what you study, but about 2.3k can get

QUOTE(metaloid @ Mar 24 2011, 03:01 AM) Since u wont be needing that sort of performance i say u only need half the price of ur budget to get something good enough. 5k lappy to use microsoft office and presentations is overkill lol. I dont even use something tht expensive for 3D stuff~ To be honest I actually think that maybe AMD's Fusion APU can fulfill SRLee's requirements pretty well.

QUOTE(astria @ Mar 24 2011, 06:29 PM) well, seriously do we really need USB3.0? granted our iPod and handphones maybe can charge faster... but thumb drives and HDD??? how often u see a normal thumbdrive shooting past 10MB/s write speed? how often u see HDDs going past 20MB/s write? USB2.0 can provide max 480Mbps = 60MB/s of bandwidth... we re not even using half of it (which is the commonly agreed max bandwidth in real use scenario)... Agreed! If you copy rar a single rar file which is large then yes it can reach about 15Mbps (I tried it once) but those large single rar files are usually you-know-what Others somehow when you copy a like of items like your whole song library for backup is mostly about 4Mbps?

QUOTE(munnie @ Mar 29 2011, 12:33 PM) Erm , can macbook play any game ? If i play high graphic game take asus better right ? There is an increase of Mac games since Valve made Steam for Mac and ported a lot of titles on it If not, boot camp. Simple. IMHO the new 13 inch version is not really good, you pay 3.6k to get an i5 that doesn't have a dedicated graphic card...

QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Mar 30 2011, 12:34 AM) Er.. MacBook air using g320M while MAcBook Pro 13 is using intel Hd3000, lol 320M definitely better lar if u just look at GPU.. Agreed. Internal graphics will rape your RAM instead of having a dedicated one. I still say MacBook Air is better for 13 inch Though MBP 15 inch is pwnage
