Yeap, 13,14" are the standards:
Acer Aspire 4743ZG, P6200 + Nvidia GT520M@RM1749, 3 years local limited warranty
Asus A43Sj, i3-2310M + Nvidia GT520M@RM1999, 2 years international warranty
Dell Inspiron 14R, i3-2310M + Intel HD 3000@RM1949
HP Pavilion G4, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1899, W7HB
Lenovo G470, i5-2410M + Intel HD3000@RM1999
Toshiba Satellite L645-1163X, i3-380M + ATI HD5650@RM1999 (if can find)

I would go for the ones underlined... but which one to buy I think your sis should check out them models by herself to see which one suits her most nod.gif

Tell ur parents Asus is the only brand that offers 2 years international warranty by default..
If not, just let you buy laptop at the country you're gonna study in..

hey, my dad has been using his ASUS for 8 years, finally died. haha.
Passing my ASUS to him and getting a new one for myself before going overseas.

Hmm, there's no such thing as a good seller I think.. Just survey and look for one which is the cheapest I guess? A forumer got his for RM1440, you can try asking him where he got it.. Check the dedicated HP-dm1z in Notebook specific discussion to find that forummer...

hi all, it's me again. looks like my budget has increased from 2.5max to 2.8k-3k max. so.....

1. Brand - Acer, lenovo, asus
2. Budget - 2.8k-3k
3. Specs - i5 SB at least, 1gb discrete graphics, 4gb ram at least, 500 gb hdd at least, usb3.0, good battery life.
4. Size - 14 inch.

my usage will be mainly for work, surfing, watching movies, multitasking. I spend a fair amount of time on Photoshop, indesign and illustrator, and of course a little bit of gaming. i'm quite an audiophile so good audio is a plus. must have chiclet keyboard.

was seriously considering the acer aspire 4830tg. but since budget increase, what models would you guys recommend?

or should i spend my extra dough on a ram+warranty upgrade for the 4830tg? quite in love with that model actually.... halp!
