+1, a forumer got this netbook + 3 years warranty during PC Fair, try to aim for that since netbooks are most of the time not meant to last long... warranty will be helpful thumbup.gif

Yeah, I remembered HP used to offer 5 years warranty, not sure whether its still available now or not hmm.gif
But getting that on a netbook is not worth it as the technology will be obsoleted in no time sad.gif

DM1z is nice... the only viable competitor to Asus 1215B but i came with weird combination of 1 piece 2GB RAM and 1 piece 1GB RAM but 3GB should be enough.

Yeah, the biggest competitor now is the 1215b... but the lack of an OS, and the currently undetermined arrival time is a huge setback sad.gif

Acer 4830Tg@RM2499, Asus N43SL@RM2599, Asus A43Sv (i5@RM2399-2599/i7@RM2899), HP Dv4@RM2899, Inspiron 14R@RM2349, Asus U41Sv@RM2899~
I think the one underlined would be the best since the speakers will come in handy~
If you're going for looks, then the Acer 4830Tg will definitely be the pick~
Performance-wise (GPU), the HP Dv4 is so far the best at the moment, but since you only do light gaming, guess its not really needed...

For 15", its pretty much Acer 5750G, Asus N53Sn, and Lenovo Y560P
You can refer here for the prices of the Satellite E300 and Satellite L700: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1809427

Thx for the input bro.
Seems tat most of the mentioned have very similar specs.
With that, comes down to brand fight i guess ? That being said, are all these brands equally reliable ? Or are some better and some not so ?
I used to have an acer for a few years already, so does many of my frens, many of us have problems with the laptops, heat issues mainly.

Yeah, it all boils down to personal preferences, I suggest you go and try and feel each laptop before purchasing~
Wheter they're reliable or not depends on how you take care of them nod.gif Getting warranty extension will prove useful in the long run
Do take note that all the Asus models mentioned come with 2 years international warranty nod.gif
As for the Acer 4830Tg, its very good, if you have doubts, do refer to this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1806729 thumbup.gif

True, if you're into gaming, better choose a laptop with a better GPU... CPU has very little effect on gaming performances
The Alienware M11x R3 will probably be announced tomorrow... we'll know the updated price in a day or two...

It seems that Dell has removed the other ULV i3/i5 variants from the website (probably to make way for the new M11x)... Hence its RM4k now shocking.gif
Here are the previous prices:
Alienware M11x, i3-330UM + Nvidia GT335M@RM3199 [2kg]
Alienware M11x, i5-520UM + Nvidia GT335M@RM3499 [2kg]

If you're looking for cheaper ones, do find Mr. Docter at the Alienware thread, he sells Alienware stuffs nod.gif
The upcoming models would be the M11x R3, M14x R1 and M18x R1 nod.gif
