i dont use madteam app2sd because its not working with me. i use Link2SD, so i can choose n move selected apk and its dalvik-cache to second partition.
the 80 + mb im state on previous post is my process memory, not storage memory.
~ lol i count again. its 180 apps. happy.gif (some service apk i added to system/app directory, haha a bit weird, but its working great)
*
madteam app2sd working to be. You must run another command in cmd after doing app2sd
The thing is, motafoca stop moving dalvik cache to prevent lag

Added on March 15, 2011, 8:45 amIn genting now, teathering wifi from my phone, stable connection, speed wise too.

Is your sim card a 3g sim card? I changed mine a few years back when 3g was first launched.

Guys,

I recently switched to Motafoca Dev Team's newest rom release, 2.0.9 Final and also applied the compass fix.

I am surprised at how solid this custom rom is in terms of performance and reliability. I say 'surprised' because I have heard and read several reports from people saying that this rom is slow, buggy, etc. whereas I have experienced it to be quite suitable for daily use.

So I want to ask those of you who are using or have used Motafoca's custom roms, what are your experiences? Was there anything in particular that you did (tweaks/customizations) that you did to improve performance? Do you think this rom is better or worse than stock eclair?
*
I straight flash to Motafoca latest rom at the 1st day after i purchased my G5. It is damn fast and smooth. I always have > 50mb of ram.

"move selected apk and its dalvik-cache to second partition ?"

Move selected application and its cache to a second partition on the sd card, formatted with ext2/ext3/ext4 (used to overcome the problem of limited phone storage).

"what is dalvik-cache ?"

Basically, just cache used by android applications for faster and smoother operation. It partly relates to how the java vm interprets and runs the apps.

"what is second partition ?"

A second partition created by the user on the sd card to expand storage space for applications and app data. This is what App2sd and link2sd does

Ow, thanks a lot man... wink.gif

one more thing... a second partition on the sd card... so do you mean there's 2 partition on the sd card and you can only move your apps to that partition ? the other partition will be useless ?

The other partition will be the regular FAT partition where regular files i.e. music, photos, videos, downloads, other files are stored.

For example, I'm using the supplied 2gb sd card that came with the phone. I resized the FAT partition to be 1.5gb and added a 500mb ext2 partition.
I store my files i.e. music and papago maps/data in the FAT partition and install applications on the other partition. icon_rolleyes.gif

This should explain it nicely

Despite froyo having wifi tethering built in, I still use Barnacle Wifi Tether (requires root) because of easy access.

That said, is there an app that lets me create homescreen shortcuts to specific submenus in settings?

Samsung Mobile Romania says that the I5500 Galaxy 5 should expect the update next week (14-20 March) and the I5800 Galaxy 3 will have to wait until the end of the month.

Rejoice?
