the whole car is tinted with ecotint and it's a security tint, especially for the side windows that is easily smashed into pieces, with this tint the glass will remain intact and not easily penetrated by thieves, you only opt for extra tint if you want to darken it and then warranty voids for the tint and it becomes non jpj compliant , so think properly before you do this
*
Thanks for the info. Means by default already tinted with Ecotint?? Wah-lau,..SA tries to con me ar... mad.gif

It comes with ecotint. Security only side. Front n back is normal tint.

For me, the IRR too low, so I tore it n fixed air cool. Double tint is no no, void tint warranty on both tint.
*
Aiks...windshield and rear no security tint? Which tint u choose and how much ?

QUOTE(MGM @ Apr 23 2011, 11:28 PM)
Did u get yours at Atiara Otomobil Taman Megah?

OTR price for 1.8CVT rm85000.
total cost assuming 90% loan @2.33% for 5 years= RM85000(0.1 + 0.9*1.1165)=RM93912

OTR price for 2.0CVT rm92000.
total cost assuming 90% loan @3% for 5 years= RM92000(0.1 + 0.9*1.15)=RM104420

A difference of RM10508. On top of that 1.8cvt comes with extra free service.
So the difference come close to 12K.

Most dealers said the 2.33% + 3 years free service offer valid for 22/4 to 24/4 except one which said it ended on 25/5/11.
*
Yes. That's the one.

The promotion until 25/5 lar...the earlier 3 days info was wrong. I saw the memo shown by the SA and it is specifically mentioned at www.protoninspira.com

The 1.8 model can get another further 1k discount also...but i still dun want...haha.

1. Rebate 3k (2010 MODEL)
2. Loan Approval within 3 days with 3% interest.(but initially he told me within 2 weeks)
3. After loan approve, he allocate stock in hand 1st, then afterwards pay deposit.
4. Within a week after payment, i got my car.
5. Free gift: Touch n go + full tank + lock + tinted voucher worth rm400 (which is useless)
6. Free service 2 yrs (this is accidently i get,the SA also dunno how come i get it)

This is what i get from my SA smile.gif

Matrix,

My inspection list: EVERYTHING... visually and physically....

I opened and closed every thing (doors, windows, boot, etc)...
I pressed and unpress each switch, button, lever...
I tried every function (auto wiper, auto lights, windows anti trap, radio, etc)...
I checked every connection in engine bay (battery terminals, radiator caps, water and oil levels, wiring, etc)...
I checked every body panel for misalignment and paint defects (there are a couple minor ones)...

I spent over an hour pre-inspecting the car, even the SA couldnt answer some of my questions on function or how to do stuff (had to go back n read manual), and made sure they put in report for all defects found...
As for the tinting, its done by Eco-Tint and its RayBarrier (4mil) for front and back, and HB6 (6mil) for sides... both are supposed to be security tint...

You can change it if you want, but not if you are greedy and wanna take "advantage" of the tint discount voucher... trust me, the "discount" will make you end up paying more...
*
Thanks for the great info! I will add all these to a list! Since it has 6 mil and 4 mil tints, it's good enough already...dun wanna waste money anymore..pokai liao...haha. I will also do the PPS which will cost around RM8xx.

I wonder if it really can keep the car shiny in good condition for 5 years...hmm..

Its warrantied for the SHINE below the top coat.... so if you dont wash the car religiously and leave bird poo and acidic rain water constantly on the top coat... nothing can help to retain the shine if the top coat is dirty...

Also, PPS will encourage you to return to it every 6mths - 1 year to re-do and re-coat your car... additional RM100 per session IINM...

I did SG, not PPS...
*
What is SG?? Another type of coating?? Pls explain! Yeah..if need to redo every 6 mths also very expensive...no different to wax/polish my car then.

Matrix:

SG = Sierra Glow, a silica based treatment (as opposed to teflon based PPS... iinm), same 5 years warranty on shine, but doesnt require yearly touch up. I have only used it for a few months, so cant tell on the long term issues of SG. Price is slightly lower than PPS (RM700).

Be aware that some SG owners do have watermark issues if the car was left outside and soaked in rain water for overnight, but u can always contact SG for a consultation (and I know SG does help in recondition for free, mostly depends on the damage).

Have not heard any problems about PPS, either that or none of the ppl that had PPS ever posted their issues (in this thread).
On the paint issue, I had air bubbles on my duck lip. They had arranged for me to visit a SC with paint shop (in Klang Valley, only Sect 13 PJ and COE Shah Alam has paint shop) to respray. The SC refused to change a new lip and insisted on respray. Luckily the lip can be removed and it was resprayed and reinstalled within 3 days. Mind you, my car went into SC in less than 24 hours to rectify this.

AFAIK, unless you car is in a very bad condition, its usual that owners takes delivery of the car and sends it into SC for warranty rectification. You can insist on not taking delivery of the car, and the SA will be the person responsible to rectify the conditions on your car... and you prolly may not want that...

Again, if the condition is super bad, you can reject the car and go over the registration process all over again...
*
Thanks. First time i heard this Sierra Glow. Where did you fix your SG? Any contacts? Yeah...i think if it's not too bad, just arrange to go back SC...otherwise, the SA tulan and Kanasai my car then even worse...

i dont get overheat issue on my prev Jazz, i dont hear any issue on CVT from audi, nissan n etc too. its a design flaw by mitsubishi on the lancer from the start. tongue.gif
*
It's not a design flaw lar...other cars also have CVT problem...go google more. Nissan cars also have a lot of CVT problems starting from Murano, but i think they have improved a lot since then. But the problems are there...even in Slyphys...when CVT overheats, car will slow down to snail pace to prevent overheating.

The gearbox in Inspira is from Nissan anyway. Nissan owns JATCO which makes the CVT....Nissan is a forerunner in CVT...even upcoming Proton cars will be using Nissan's CVT i believe....there was some MOU signed between Proton and Nissan recently, which i believed is to discuss on this. New Exora and Persona R will be coming up with Nissan's CVT.

The key is, just don't drive like a mad man....if you want to drive like mad man, best option for you is manual transmissions.
