have just done my 100k. I got con by the salesman. He promised me in black and white that my car comes with 3 years free maintenance and service. But the service center can not find the record in their system. So i got to pay myselft RM162 for the first service sad.gif

I called icare, they said they cannt help. Call the saleman, he keep saying will check for me tomorrow (already 10000xtomorrow).

anyone know any proton top management that i can complain? i dont know what i should do now. The 3 years free S&M worth RM2k plus, just burned.
*
There is no 3 year free service and you should receive a voucher booklet. If there is no black and white showing free service anywhere in your receipt or other documents, then it is very hard for tribunal court to pursue. Most is you can make a huge havoc at their branch warning others of their dirty tactics. Btw which outlet is this?

our Inspira became the hot target for the pencuri, i am the victim here
*
Sityong, sorry to hear about this. Why not just cover it up with a keyless cap (like the other doors) since we seldom use the key anyway, this way no need to invest in another lock/key. Thief also lesser 1 option to pry open the door. Just my 5cent thought on this.

yes im thinking to buy a full covered cap for this, so no "hole" no " desire"  brows.gif but i am checking how if our key got no more battery, how we are going to enter the car and start the engine without alarm beep...
*
Change battery every 1 to 2 years... cheaper than losing car... In case of no batt (which maybe happend once or twice), can call any "locksmiths" to open the door... Now I am wondering where to get this cap, proton parts got sell? Get the passenger side.

haha u guys heard or not the mercs S class keyless entry etc, the thief cut off the owners thumb/finger smile.gif
*
Yeah, that was few years back, not sure if the scanner has included thermal sensor now as cut off fingers would be cold...

Ric means close proximity keyless entry, no need to press any button. As long as transmitter is near (eg in ur pocket), car unlocks.

Yup, vincent. I would like to have tat. Keyless entry and keyless start engine.  brows.gif

Saw this done on one suv in a shop in ss2... Owner walk to vehicle, doors unlock, sit inside and start engine by pressing Start button, kau tim. Forgot if need to off engine or owner just walks away and it will stop and locks. Did not ask for price though. Involve cutting of wires though, still interested?

Do you guys find Petronas fuel finishes/burns faster than other brands, although perhaps a little more powerful... So guess it boils down to ur preference, power or mileage...

got one SA show me 1.8 E manual CBU .. still have CBU stock ?  how to differentiate CBU or CKD ?

planning to test that car tomorrow
*
Check the side windows for proton logos & CKD chassis no begins with PLxxxx. Don't think there is 1.8 CBU in Msia. 2.0 perhaps but not 1.8. Sounds like another non-trustable SA to me.

any guide on numbering

Added on April 13, 2011, 7:55 pmhow much discount they offered now for inspira 1.8E ?

if not mistaken i heard rm3000..
*
No need to check chassis no. Proton logo at the side means not CBU. Do you think proton will export the windows to Japan and ask them to assemble it there with proton windows? Btw, the glass mountings are somewhat different inside. Btw, which outlet is this, better you warn others here of this SA.

As long as it starts with P, its CKD. for the benefit of all, here is the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) guide. For CBU, it has to start with J... In Inspira case, they used P for Proton instead of M.

Hi everyone, been frequenting this thread for quite some time, congrats on v5!

Urgently need to ask inspira owners opinion, as I was almost set on getting the 1.8M, until a recent turn of events made the 2.0CVT 'kind of' accessible to me.. This is a long term purchase so I want to make sure I do it right first time around =] and kinda in a hurry, so no time to test drive either one, hope you guys can help me make up my mind by the end of this week

1) better go for 2.0 with everything, or more worth it to get a 1.8M and use the spare change to mod similar to 2.0 extras, like leather seats, skirting etc.. (haven't bought yet but reading all this poison here & there, get excited already hahah)

2)  can you match the 1.8MT acceleration & topspeed with the 2.0CVT? really curious how driving a cvt feels, manual driver myself so prefer that 'oomph' feeling of driving manual, but the proton salesperson was pushing cvt, stating that it can match the manual (pushing 1.8cvt summore, which kinda made me suspicious, after reading various performance reviews). does the 'manual' gear change part of the cvt (dunno what they call it, the bottom partwhere you can change gears by just pushing up or down instead of leaving at D/1/2 like a normal auto) feel as good as a proper manual gearbox (responsive or some lag between gear change)?

and since the past few posts are talking about problems/funny feel to the manual gear, making me worried about that too..

3) lari topik sikit, is the tweeter casing really empty??? i went to the same proton edar twice, and talked to two different salespersons, both time say got tweeter inside, but on POIC ppl are complaining there's no stock tweeter? if really no then can use this as ammo next time i go there hehe
As for my own opinion, the things i like (+) and dislike (-) about 1.8MT compare to the 2.0

1.8MT
+ manual shift!
+ best accel & top speed (on paper)
+ over 10k cheaper than 2.0 (to cover potential medical cost for poison!)
- no auto climate control
- no leather interior
- no body kit (minus the spoiler)
- no paddle shift (which will probably be forgotten to be used after a few months anyway)

hmm anything else?

Answers
1) Go for 2.0. Price difference of monthly installment spread over the years are quite minimal. It comes with all the extras that you cannot add in like auto cruise, auto wiper/light, auto climate control & paddle shifts. Leather seats can do later but why trouble yourself? Price of nappa is 3.5K which you have to cough out upfront. Not forgetting you are getting a higher cc mivec engine.

2) 2.0cvt acceleration with paddle shift matches 1.8M. Tried and tested. 4th gear onwards 1.8m kena smoked... Top speed eventually will be abt 200 for both but how often u risk ur life at this speed? 1.8cvt also has manual shift, its at the gear stick but if u compare 1.8cvt and 1.8m, the manual might win (have not tried drag test for this combo).

3) Tweeter casing confirm empty. Newer batches has no mesh openings on that panel making it not feasible to install it inside unless you drill a round hole to fit the tweeter in. You can try sourcing for this meshed panel from online sites. We also cannot find the tweeter wire for this newer batch. The older batches had the tweeter wire ready inside. But no worries, we have many ideas for your tweeter solutions, just join our tt to get poisoned.

Final decision depends on your preference and driving style.

Jack, can explain this in detail? i tot 1.8mt faster than 2.0cvt?
*
Not if you use paddle shifts and is used to the car...

Jack, urs no cat, also not fair comparison... straight flow out... So give n take. By the time 4th gear is no longer rims heavy issue... its when 2.0 torque overcomes 1.8...
