QUOTE(rockets @ Apr 14 2011, 11:53 AM) was it stock vs stock aside from rims? jack's 18" is a 225 or 215 tyre? alot of rolling resistance. any of the cars have UR bars(those are very heavy). both cars have spare tyres inside(that's 20kg extra)? both cars using ron97 fuel? engine oil? both still using syntium 800? that is one thick oil, if one uses thinner full syn oil then i'll be different. most important, is jack a fast shifter? Lol, u think we official tester for proton meh? Bottom line both rocks and can out run many other makes anytime. Both are compareably fast and depends on how crazy the driver is. Unless you racing against each other on track and all stock, the 1 second difference will not matter in real life traffic. Fast shifter or not, I know Jack is a crazy driver... So guess that makes me another crazy driver to smoke him.

QUOTE(lee0125 @ Apr 14 2011, 05:45 PM) I thnk proton-edar has more service center. If you want to buy from EON, go to EON HQ in Glenmarie, they have ready stock. For the previous generation of City, both idsi and ivtec using CVT. Not sure why they dumped it. There is a official TT session at Shah Alam this Saturday. Come and join if you want to explore more on Inspira. I got mine from Taman SEA branch facing LDP, not the Tmn Megah one. Branch manager is very helpful. City cvt uses full rubber belt, ours like Selphy, uses metal ribbed rubber belt. City failed due to some ppl used wrong auto oil or skimmed on the oil quality. Therefore Honda felt Msia is not ready for cvt tech. You better go back to proton to change the correct diamond cvt oil else will also suffer. TT session is on Friday 15/4/11 at Shah Alam this week. Other Fridays will still remain in PJ as usual.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usSound like your engine died, therefore brakes hardened. Later postings showed that battery connection lose, thus explaining why engine died. Hope its fixed now.

QUOTE(shouxx @ Apr 20 2011, 04:47 AM) haha.. just joking about the perli part, but thanks poadster, after read this can sleep better hehe.. cos all my cars before this are manual, so just happy to hear the comparable performance between both transmission (still have nightmares driving my cousins old 1st batch auto gen2.. before the iafm/campro fix.. remember it also makes me tension) saw the painted rims.. wow very nice!!! i've seen this pic before, but didn't know it was stock! well after looking at the rims, i feel that it's a pretty interesting design, just that being all silver doesn't compliment it well cos look abit cluttered. rm400... *gulp* Rm400 is nothing compared to the urge to change to 17" or 18" rims c/w low profile tires.. which in the end will cost a bomb maintaining them. Not forgetting you have to be very gentle with them on Msian pot hole riddled roads... 18" looks darn nice but.. like high heels lor.. can only walk on smooth or carpet surfaces. Unfortunately we are not driving on smooth track like roads daily. Your $$ ur call lor...

QUOTE(deric_chong35 @ Apr 21 2011, 11:25 AM) Very nice experience drag race. Few questions to justify the results of 2.0CVT vs 1.8MT You say 2.0CVT win 1.8MT from Gear 4 onwards? What is the speed you are running on Gear 4? If running above 120KM 2.0CVT is pulling away, I would say 1.8MT is better in city driving. I prefer 1.8MT 0-100 faster than 2.0CVT. What is the mileage for both cars? Engine run-in yet? And is the 1.8MT driver skill enough to change gear? Are you guys running on straight road or with corners? And finally 1.8MT can drop in a bolt-on turbo anytime to pawn 2.0CVT. 2.0CVT is for girls. The choice of variant will depend on your personal preference but belittling those who choose 2.0CVT or CVT is not a very nice thing to do. What you say only reflects on yourself.

QUOTE(Gouki @ Apr 25 2011, 10:38 AM) i dont get overheat issue on my prev Jazz, i dont hear any issue on CVT from audi, nissan n etc too. its a design flaw by mitsubishi on the lancer from the start. Damn.. have to call Jatco who supplies to cvt to complain. Slphy also will get this same issue.. then again... those who get slyphy won't rev it like those who get a mivec... Knowing what crazy drivers who will drive mivec, they added a pre-emptive warning system. It did not blow up right? Better than honda ones that just fail prematurely... without warning. Actually this Inspira is just a normal family sedan, why are we treating it as Evo X ah? This post has been edited by XCInspire: Apr 25 2011, 10:54 AM

QUOTE(Gouki @ Apr 25 2011, 11:06 AM) come on guys, i dont mean to attack inspira or anything particularly. as for my jazz, never have issue for the CVT even i clocked more than 100000km b4 i sold it. to be honest. i did revved the inspira to overtake cars and engine braking n etc. no issue. the overheating only arise when i maintain at 210+kmh near the alor gajah stretch with partial throttle. so the rpm is definitely not high rev. after 5mins at that speed, there goes the warning light. on the way back from tangkak to KL, i maintain at cruising speed around 180-200kmh. no issues. its weird considering the 10+kmh threshold margin. but i believe the overheating is just a warning it went up to the safety temp point. its definitely not hot enuff like overheating engine oil to break the oil molecules. Precisely my point, just a warning and safety measure. Anyway ur bro so heartsick now.. hahaha...

QUOTE(Matrix @ Apr 25 2011, 11:27 AM) Excellent point. I am using it as normal family sedan...no worries for me, hehe....120km-140km/h at most on highway. Most importantly, can fly up Genting no problem whlie leaving the Dugong and City behind biting my dust crawling like snails. Priceless. Matrix, soon you will discover your average cruising speed is 120-140... 160-180 is at most...
