Interested in having the Narrator... well... narrating your wedding ceremony?
A wedding featuring Bastion's narrator? For one fan, it happened QUOTE Bastion is an amazing game, and the team at Supergiant Games is a passionate bunch. An Ars Technica reader named Jay Greschner sent us this wonderful story about a very special surprise the developer put together for his wedding. The story begins simply: after becoming a fan of the game's soundtrack, Greschner sent an e-mail to Supergiant about helping out with the ceremony itself. After that? Well, I'll let him tell the story. Now as awesome as the soundtrack for Bastion is, we all know the thing that makes the game is the narration by Logan Cunningham. So I thought why not get in touch and see if we could get the Narrator to do some lines for our wedding? A quick e-mail explaining the situation was written up and fired off, and then the waiting began. Soon after, Greg Kasavin (writer and creative director of Bastion) got back to me and we had a brief discussion. In my initial e-mails I had sent a couple of example lines but Greg replied that the Narrator had a certain tone that he wanted to keep even though this was out of game and was wondering if he could write some stuff up for Logan. I had no problem with this and Greg said that they'd try and record some lines before PAX Prime. A couple of days later, I got another e-mail containing 4 recordings that the Narrator had done for us and was just amazed and honored that Supergiant Games would do this for me. Greschner set up the audio, and his brother would play each audio clip at certain points during the ceremony. The narrator talking about the wedding as it happened was a major surprise for his wife. You can listen to the audio files right here: Here Comes the Bride Click here to listen Cell phones Click here to listen The couple Click here to listen Kiss the bride Click here to listen "Well, things went off without a hitch and the custom recordings from the Narrator completely floored my wife," he wrote. This was an amazing thing for a game developer to do for a fan, and it helped to make a wedding that no one will ever forget. So congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Greschner, and a big thumbs-up to Supergiant Games. Go buy Bastion, if you haven't. It's a wonderful game. Source: Ars Technica |

nope, activate 100% crit...to one shot those things...lol
there were times that the dmg dealt was below the 1 shot mark...need to 2 shot the targets...thus using more time than you usually need |

QUOTE(talexeh @ Nov 11 2011, 10:50 PM) I think i have pretty much seen all of Bastion can offer, it's one hell of a great game. Tried all the endings too and i love the small touches that they do in different endings. If you only can buy one indie game, i highly recommend Bastion then. |

Tried the game with an arcade stick.
Good fun but can't block. Maybe there is a button to hold instead to block. |

This... this is... this is MADNESS!
Announcing the Stranger’s Dream DLC for Bastion! QUOTE One of the most frequently asked questions we got since Bastion’s release this summer is, will there be any DLC for the game? We’ve brushed it aside, stating that we designed Bastion to be a complete, stand-alone experience and would never seek to extend the story through DLC. All this is true. HOWEVER! In the weeks following the release of the game, we decided to put a little something together for the holidays as a show of thanks to our fans. So, on December 14, we’ll be pleased to bring you the Stranger’s Dream DLC for Bastion, which should give you some good reasons to come back to the game while preserving the core experience just as we intended. Here’s a sneak peek: ![]() The Stranger’s Dream DLC includes: · The Stranger’s Dream: a new fully narrated Who Knows Where sequence, bigger and more challenging than the others. You’ll gain a bit more insight into Rucks’ backstory as well as the history of Caelondia if you can survive this fight. · Score Attack Mode: a challenging new way to play through the story! You start at level one with all Spirits and Idols unlocked. Your combat performance is rated for efficiency, and all areas are repeatable. · No-Sweat Mode: for those who just want to experience the story of Bastion, this mode provides unlimited chances to carry on from where you left off if you’re defeated in battle. The Steam and XBLA versions of the game will also contain new Leaderboards for the Stranger’s Dream and Score Attack Mode. To access the Stranger’s Dream sequence as well as Score Attack Mode, you need to have finished the game at least once. The Stranger’s Dream sequence will be available early on in your New Game Plus or Score Attack play-through. How to Get the Stranger’s Dream DLC Steam Users: You’ll receive this free update automatically through Steam when it becomes available. Xbox LIVE Arcade Users: Start the game on December 14 or later to be prompted to download our new Title Update. You’ll see an option to download the new content from the main menu once you have the Title Update, which also fixes various minor issues in the game. The Stranger’s Dream DLC will be available for 80 Microsoft Points ($1) on XBLA, which we can’t make free due to Microsoft policy, so it’s about as close as we could get. Though, since you’ll be getting at good chunk of new content, we think you’ll be satisfied with your purchase. Non-Steam PC Users: We’ll be working with the various online vendors to update their versions of the Bastion installer so that you can download the latest version containing the update. Google Chrome Users: Our newly-announced Google Chrome version will be getting this DLC as well, in the coming weeks. Your version of the game should update automatically when the DLC becomes available. ~ ~ ~ We hope you enjoy this little encore in the Bastion universe! Thanks again for making 2011 an amazing year for us at Supergiant Games, and here’s to many more! Source: Supergiant Games |
