i'll start my comment with this pic that starts it all.

from this moment, our game changed completely.RVP reacted badly and pick up those cards.we suffered without striker upfront.the ever reliable cesc is not up to his form.

since bro StarGhazzer didn't post good, bad and ugly about our game lately, may i try to do it this time.

GOOD:

-jack,djorou and nasri.these lads will be our fulcrum and example to the kids or whoever come to arsenal.these lads were fully concentrate and focus 90 minutes of the game.the only concern for me is that nasri tend to lose his temper easily.
-in 180 minutes we played against barca,we definitely improved from last season.no surprise as we have most of our main men in the team.

BAD:

-the tactic.putting rosicky on the right wing really surprise me.if arsene's reason is for defensive play,he did not contribute anything on defending.if arsene want to play counter attacking,he should put two men with pace on the wings.rosicky doesn't has that.that's really bad decision by arsene.
-koscielny still shaky.whenever someone pressurize him,he'll stumble.diaby..the only positive from him last night is his physical presence in the corner that leads to the own goal.

UGLY:

-RVP and cesc.these two, when the news were out,it was like the light at the end of tunnel for us.sounds like our saviour that can lead us to the next round.but what happened?RVP lose his calm despite of his age.yes, the red card was dubious.but he should at least control his temper in the first half.he need to learn from barton how to react when people choke him tongue.gif about cesc,it's either he really want to join barca or he want to stay in arsenal longer.for us,it might seem like he's throwing us out of the CL.but think the other way round, cesc might want to stay longer.he already said,he wanna win something with this team.he wasn't there at wembley.and he played badly this morning.i'll say,if he still unable to bring us silverware this season(touchwood!) that'll only increase his hunger for trophy next season.
-sczesczney's injury.looks like we're gonna depend on almunia for the rest of the season.

rosicky needs to leave already, seriously. he is a mere shadow of his former self.
no creativity, no roaming, no defensive help, not dictating play.. and so on.

i'm surprised nobody mention bendtner here.
he can open his big mouth talking how good he is but failed like a wussy when it matters.

its time for wenger to decide the fate of some of these players; diaby/ denilson/ rosicky/ bendter/ arshavin

p/s: cesc can leave if barca pays. wilshere 7 and captain next season. smile.gif
*
i don't mention bendtner cause let's be honest.how much he can do actually in the last 15-20 minutes of the match(didn't track the time since the HD channel didn't show the time)?he tried his best.he got the chance but didn't take it.but not his fault i think since mascherano was already pressuring him.

if im arsene, yeah.the first three should leave.but the other two can stay.arshavin can still produce some magic for us.we still need bendtner as sub striker in case RVP got injured and chamakh burn out again next season.

QUOTE(angelsien @ Mar 9 2011, 02:09 PM)
honestly, i still think the ref totally changed the game. barca was good, but they only looked good because of the tactic arsene wenger chose to play, which i think wasnt the wrong one.

arsenal was only trying to sit back, defend and break on the counter attack. and at 1-1 you couldnt say our plan wasnt working. but after the red card, the plan was totally screwed.

if you did watch the match, i think the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half up until our goal kinda showed that we could play our game but chose to play something different.

just my opinion
*
yup.forgot to include that as well.the referee was bad.not biased.decisions doesn't go on both way.very pathetic.

QUOTE(nanamiwashio @ Mar 9 2011, 02:18 PM)
guys, seriously i bukan fans arsenal and dont follow arsenal match sangat

but why ar arshavin slalu bench? off form ke?
*
for me,like i said in my previous post, bad tactic by arsene.he should start along with nasri on the wings.

time to move on...
lets cheer for our nexyt match against Man U..

we already saw how Chelsea n Liverpool beat Man U...
put aside the referee thing...

we can learn how to beat Man U...

yeahhh come on arsenal smile.gif
*
how to beat man u?from what i see in those previous matches as well as the game against wolves,we just need to disrupt their midfield and their passing to the flanks.will song be fit for this weekend?i hope so cause him and wilshere will do this job.

QUOTE(barca96 @ Mar 9 2011, 05:26 PM)
how did you come to this conclusion?
were you ever in contention before the red card?
you guys only had 2 touches in our penalty area for the whole match opposed to 47 or so in your box.
and we had nearly 20 shots and you guys NIL.
stop blaming the ref.
if RVP wasn't sent off, Konchelni(sp?) would've.
Twice. Once a thigh high tackle on Messi in the box after Messi made a mesmerizing run and another one on Villa.
So ask yourself, was it better that RvP went off or a defender?
RvP didnt make any difference to the match as he was the highest up the pitch.
He doesnt defend at all so it had no bearing on the outcome.
If a defender was sent off, then yes, I understand.

Wilshere was the only midfielder who performed for you guys.
But that boy needs to calm down sometimes.
I dont watch him tht often but he does make rash challenges at times and he looks to have a temper.

I used to rate Ramsey(before his injury) higher but that was 2 seasons ago.
Who is actually better? Ramsey(before injury or Wilshere?
*
i wanna ask, will it be better if abidal got the red instead for this offense?

the lads in arseblog said the referee saw it but didn't give out any card.how's that?

QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ Mar 9 2011, 07:47 PM)
erm correct me if im wrong, when Arsenal play their attacking game against other lesser EPL teams and those teams had to play a contain game, didnt Fabregas said the opponent also anti-football? it was some time ago i think. So in a context i think what Xavi said is similar to what Fab said a few years back. And before im being said trolling, im just trying to compare the situations because apart from when playing Barca, Arsenal is an attacking side (similar to Barca themselves) and as we all know, the main way to thwart an attacking play is to put the whole team behind the ball aka Anti-football. So just like how u guys defended against barca last night, many teams also defended in a similar fashion when playing Arsenal. Also similar to my opinion to what Fab said back then, i also agree that Xavi is wrong to say that because like you pointed out, defending is also part of football. there's no right or wrong way to play football.

As for the red card, after reviewing the replay it does seem like the second yellow is not only harsh, that couldnt be deemed as "kicking the ball away" at all. And if RVP still stays on pitch, at 3-1 arguably he could find himself a chance to score 1 to get it to 3-2, and by then it would be Arsenal qualifying.
*
iinm, when fabregas said the opponent was anti-football,it's because the opponent came to hack our feet and launching the ball up in the air like playing rugby.

yes.i agreed on what you said.it's a shot on goal and not kicking the ball away.so many times i see players shoot towards the goal after offside has been called.just because RVP's shot wasn't on target, doesn't mean it's kicking the ball away.

QUOTE(bone_me @ Mar 9 2011, 07:51 PM)
what does their fans got to do with this?

btw Xavi is just being honest, certainly everyone including the neutrals will have expected Arsenal to have at least 1 shot at goal (off or on target). icon_rolleyes.gif
*
from what i read in barca thread, from the comments on the internet, and if it wasn't the fans at the stadium whistling until RVP can't even hear ref's whistle.

urgh..that would be the last time i ever gonna argue in this forum.

i really hope song can play for the next game and arshavin to start with nasri on the flanks.

for almunia, the remaining matches could be his last straw with us.if he unable to perform above the par,he should go.fabianski and szczesny already shown what they are capable of.mannone will be back with us.

Interesting read about Encik Busacca's performance that night. Overall was wrong all over the pitch.
*
couldn't have agree more.

it's easy to say "stop blaming the referee" when you're on the winning side.but like boxsystem (iinm) said,if it wasn't the manager or the players to criticize the referee, who else?will FIFA continue let this kind of referee to continue refereeing a match?

QUOTE(kamkamparadise @ Mar 13 2011, 12:46 PM)

if Arsenal end this season trophyless again, then there certainly a risk of losing the likes of Fabregas, RVP and Nasri.
*
but like i've said before, cesc don't wanna leave until he win something with arsenal.if he wanna leave because we didn't a single trophy again,it's because his absence was felt during birmingham final and united match last night.he was one of the worse performer in barca match.at least there's no reason to blame the squad for not winning a trophy.

yeah.RVP will stay.he's damm loyal to the club.still remember when he scored against barca,he run and hugged arsene.

nasri will stay probably as long as his contract goes.

djorou will be out for the rest of the season.very sad.when we got a defender who at least capable to do what sol campbell did for us,turns out that he's injury prone defender.hoping for the best as we're going to have squillaci until the rest of the season alongside almunia.
