somehow i am not so pissed about the loss. maybe going out of the 3rd competition in a fortnight will do that to you(ha!).

but most of it was because the fact that AF bettering AW in a match tactic is not something new. i said in here a few months ago that 1 of AF strong point is that he willing to adapt his tactic to the situation of the match while 1 of AW weak point was the exact opposite of that. while Arsene Wenger is the non-family guy i love the most (not in a gay way), i do believe talks about whether he is still good enough for us are valid. after all, the boss himself asked us to judge him by his on the pitch result this season.

however, saying that IMO the discussion on the said subject can wait after the season finish. now we are still in the hunt for the BPL title, and we need to get behind the team 100%. COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!!

I would prefer to have good discussion with someone like corez or boxsystem as they provide very informative input from a different point of view with solid facts.
But with you, looking at the replies that you respond to, i only could find zero maturity. I would appreciate if you don't reply to my post.

Can we have a discussion on players who's not good enough to be in the team, to win a premiership. I know this would actually create an easy route for some frustrated fans to make a certain player an escape goat, i'm hoping for a positive discussion, not just from Arsenal fan, others are welcome based on their analysis.

P.S : Please bear in mind that, the discussion is purely on whether the player was good enough to win the premiership this season, please don't discuss on his age/maturity/development thus leading out of topic. Please do compare the below players to other premiership team players as this is where i would want this discussion lead to. Thanks.

Lets start with strikers/forwards :

1) RVP10
2) C29
3) NB52
4) A23
5) TW14
6) V11 (Loan to WBA)

1)RVP10 has always been our best striker in the squad. But he has a problem, he just can't stay fit for the whole season due to injury prone. Despite that, he still contribute to the team for a whole season in term of goals. For me, he's good enough based on the stats that he provides every season.

2)A bargain striker who replaced RVP10 when he was injured. He went missing after that. Why did we get him for if we don't include him in the squad ? As a replacement only ? His stats is average on the number of games he played compared to contribution. Clinical striker ? Sometimes i doubt that, as he don't take the opportunity. Missing goal instinct ?

3)This lad has been disappointing the whole season. Despite his hattrick against New Orient, i failed to capture his contribution to the team this season. All talks but no action ? Clinical finisher - No. He's a CF, but caught out of position most of the time. Does Arsenal system which doesn't suite his style of play ? Well, for this season, i think he was nowhere near good to be inserted in a premiership winning team.

4) Hardworking, but making quite alot of mistakes in term of passing. Often getting caught. He's been pretty average this season, perhaps too high off expectation ? May be the lack of goal explains his average contribution ?

5) Arsenal certainly been missing him. He's having one of the good season till injury. I sense that we lack off fast pace players to run through the defender, opening space. I think he certainly was good enough for this season. The injury was unforeseen. We have no adequate substitute.

6) Vela, to be honest i was expecting him to get much needed game time this season. I believe from the games he played for Arsenal, he was largely missing in the game. Not physical enough ? I must say that i am dissapointed with him, may be next season we could see more of him.

With the keeper situation, you can only blame him with hindsight. None of us could have ever had predicted that we'd have enough keepers knocked out to need to sign Mad Jens. Hindsight's a b****.

As for the CBs, look how people were panicking over Djourou and Koscielny earlier in the season. Their partnership turned out to be fruitful.

Sure, some can point at the league cup game and some mistakes, but that's missing the big picture: we have conceded one less goal than Man Utd and only two teams (Chelsea and City) have conceded less goals than us. So where is this defensive frailty?

The analysis that Arsenal's defence is particularly frail is because some mistakes tend to happen in the deciding goals or journalists simply parroting trending perceptions of it, but the numbers tell a different story.

That is not forgetting that some of the defensive errors have nothing to do with the CBs but other players. It is a common mistake to assume defensive duties are only down to the back five. The midfield has to play a role as well. Aaron Ramsey's marking was obviously at fault yesterday.

This has more to do with defensive coordination and training that shit CBs. You can buy Cahill or whoever you think is "reliable", but without defensive organisation you'll still be shit and perhaps that is something Arsene has to work on. Don't just jump at what seems to be the easiest solution ("buy CBs!").

I'm not saying our defence is flawless or there is little room for improvements, but don't let defensive mistakes overwhelm your judgment and blur the bigger picture.

P.S. Also, Squillaci is a capped French international. He was solid enough at Sevilla, played in a Champions League final and was a lynchpin in a dominant Lyon when he was there. Anybody who says that Arsene should've predicted that he would have been mediocre is setting a really high standard, to be honest.

Compare our situation with Man Utd, who may have two very good CBs (who have had years to form a solid, stable partnership), but their backups are Smalling (good, but not THAT good) and Evans (shaky, and his studs up challenge yesterday was reckless as well) and it paints a better picture of the Arsenal's staff judgment. At the beginning of the season, we had a good complement of defenders in Vermaelen, Koscielny, Djourou and Squillaci. That two of them got injured is precisely why most teams keep four CBs.

Hindsight's a b****, as always.
Did you watch, for example, Man Utd's first half performance vs. Blackpool? Struggled badly without Giggs et. al.

Other teams struggle too. But this season, other teams haven't lost key players the way we do it. Not accurate, actually Chelsea lost players for a while and their form dipped dramatically.

It's the same for all teams. We've been hard hit with injuries and we HAVE scraped victories like other teams as well. That's why despite the recent form, we're still second.

Even the most legendary of teams struggle in plenty of matches during the season.
