1215B is using the same chassis as the other 1215 models. Thus far, I don't think anyone here did a swap yet, but I think I might do it when I get a 1215B myself. Also if you haven't seen it before, the dissection guide for a 1215: http://netbooksreview.net/news/asus-1215n-disassembly/

The next refresh after the E-450 will be the 28mm Fusion is due for next year. So even with the E-350, it still won't be that obsolete until then.

QUOTE(smecksy @ Mar 22 2011, 10:22 AM) We can order the 1215b, but the guys at Asus told me that we cannot upgrade the Ram to 4gb. They showed me the Asus product guide and told me that it was not mentioned that the motherboard can support up to 4gb of ram. I wanted to get this laptop but now im totally confused. Everywhere, in every review it says can upgrade to 4gb ram, but the dealer says the motherboard cannot support. Did they alter the motherboard for asia or .... ? Wait, order from where?!??!

Did you mean Evernew in Sunway Pyramid?
Well AFAIK, RAM is user upgradeable in the 1215 series and the chipset is capable of supporting up to 8GB of RAM except it will only run in single channel.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 27 2011, 02:20 PM) I thought 1015B comes with C50, 1215B comes with E350? QUOTE(GagaRemix @ Mar 27 2011, 02:25 PM) That's what the product guide says. But some website mention there are several version of 1215B. It's a variant. Sometimes, Asus likes to play around with the specs to save cost while throwing in some other thing which in this case is an OS.

I have a feeling E-350 will totally be phased out then.

QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Apr 2 2011, 08:50 AM) HDD not easily accessible, would be a hassle for you to change to SSD.. Need to open the whole thing IINM, the way to to HDD should be the same as the other 1215 models. Just need some time and skill to get it accessed.

QUOTE(mitodna @ Apr 10 2011, 03:21 PM) Is the new Galaxy Tab released here? Hmm, maybe the usual Engadget I read saying it is way expensive than iPad 2, sorry to hijack e-350 thread, Anyway e-350 refresh properly before September? Hasn't been released yet. They did a rethink to their pricing after the iPad 2 came out. E-350's successor the E-450 should be out by September.

Basically Asus did chuck those specs into their 1215B. Only thing is the battery life doesn't reach that 8 hour yet.
The MSI X370 with an 8 cell battery nearly reaches 8 hours but it's a 13" subnotebook.
